Taco Bell "Airlifts" Tacos To Alaskan Town After Hoax

taco-bell-airlift.jpg

Because there's absolutely nothing better to do in Bethel, Alaska (God, go fight a bear!), one of the town's 6,000 residents started posting flyers that a Taco Bell franchise was coming to the area (the nearest is 400 miles away in Anchorage). It was a lie, and that person has since been burned at the stake. But Taco Bell decided to "airlift" 10,000 Doritos Locos tacos to the town anyways as a gesture of kindness. I'm kidding, it was totally out of pity. Also, you might notice I put airlift in quotations because I'm pretty sure they just shipped all the ingredients there and made the tacos on site. The video of the helicopter carrying the van (posted after the jump) was just for promotional purposes and you can even see THROUGH the bottom of the van (no engine) when it's directly overhead. Good one, Taco Bell. But seriously I did have their new Cantina Bowl yesterday and it was good. Imagine a Taco Bell version of a Chipotle burrito bowl for $5. That's what it is. I give it four out of five silent but deadly farts and one that sounded like a train horn but was harmless.

Hit the jump for cheesy(!) helicopter video.

Thanks to matt and AlaskaNick, who told me between the two of them they could eat 4,000 tacos in a sitting. You two, wow.
