Those Signals Cause Cancer!: Wi-Fi Proof Wallpaper

May 10, 2012 / i bet it doesn't come cheap either, i don't get it, i mean whatever, no no no no no, please don't install this at starbucks (i like to blog from my car outside sometimes), radiation, stealing things, those signals make me do crazy things!, voices in your head, wall treatment, what am i missing here?, whatever, why?, wi-fi, wtf, you've got to be kidding me

Scientists in Grenoble, France have created a silver-crystal coated wallpaper that blocks Wi-Fi signals. The wallpaper will be available for sale next year, but amazingly isn't being marketing to the people who're convinced Wi-Fi signals cause testicular shrinkage and saggy boobs but instead as a defense against Wi-Fi stealing neighbors. Because God forbid you put a f***ing password on your router. "You can do that?" Haha -- yes grandma, you can.

Thanks to jedi GK, who locks down his Wi-Fi the old fashioned way: naming his router 'Connect_and_die'.

     Oooorrr you could simply line your walls with brass mesh and create a Faraday cage, blocking all wireless signals.

  • Or you know... encrypt your connection like a normal person without a tinfoil hat.

    I have been thinking about this lately because i'm in a wifi environment for a large percentage of the day (E.g at school wifi is on, at home neighbours wifi is on 24h 7 days a week) and i'm paranoid that it could be doing something to my reproductive system .

  • Oh yes, let's coat the walls so that the wifi will just bounce around like a freaking microwave making it worse.

    Actually WIFI = 2.4GHz, your microwave oven = 2.45GHz.
