Strength In Numbers: Swarming Quadrocopters

autonomous-swarmbot-copters.jpg

Seen here practicing a stealth attack on a mock-up of your bedroom window, a group of autonomous quadrocopters at The University of Pennsylvania's GRASP Lab swarm their target. Now -- just imagine if it had been you sleeping on the other side of that window. Not a pretty picture, is it? It's not. And I'm not just saying that because your room's a mess and you sleep in the nude, but that certainly doesn't help the picture my mind's trying to paint right now. DAMMIT BRAIN, LESS PEEN! Per random Youtube commenter:

I thought the future would bring us good stuff like jet packs and robot prostitutes. Instead we get swarms of miniature assassin drones. Crap.

WHOA WHOA WHOA -- since when are robot prostitutes "good stuff"? Listen: if you want to have sex with a bunch of nuts and bolts, that's your business, but don't go around acting like we ALL want to. God, It's not like f***ing dinos, bro.

Hit the jump for the video. Bonus 'flying in a figure-8' and smiley-face formations at the very end.

Because Mother Nature is completely out of her f***ing mind, decapitated rattlesnakes can still strike and cripple/kill their enemies up to an hour after being decapitated. They can't fly though, so now would be a good time to start saving for that jetpack. Rattlesnake venom ... / Continue →

Seen here about to inappropriately touch a stepladder, DARPA's autonomous V-bat drone hovers while showing off its 6-foot robotic arm. Wonderful, now they're going to start stealing our claw machine prizes. At least leave some for the kids. Officially, there's an innocuous ... / Continue →

the ppl working on these are so stuck up; tried to talk to a few carrying a bunch of them down the walk, wouldn't even acknowledge some legitimate questions.

  • Pfft, don't fear; adapt! Set up a trap, catch them and sell them to China!
