I don't know where you pick up your examples of society, McFeely, but maybe you're getting "hipster" and "preteen-angsty-Linkin Park-based emo kid" mixed up.
I kind of expected Ron to have sprouted one of those ginger mountain man beards with tattoos all over his scrawny torso, and Harry to have white Buddy Holly frames instead of the generic semi-hipster neckscarves and flashy sweaters.
Looks to me like we should start categorizing hipsters nowadays. "File this one under barefoot Mac user."

a few of us, by us i mean people who live in chicago, new york, portland, san fransisco, philadelphia, seattle, athens, and oberlin know what hipsters are, or were i should say. they don't exist anymore. they're style has been absorbed into the mainstream so thoroughly that they no longer really exist. the rest of you midwestern/suburban hicks have no idea what a hipster is. so stop using the word. it's lost all it's utility.
