Jul 29 2010Pew Pew Pew!: Starcraft LEGO Stop-Motion

starcraft-lego-stopmotion.jpg

As many of you may know because you haven't slept since its release on Tuesday, Starcraft II was just released. And what better way to celebrate than a stop-motion LEGO homage to the original? I mean, besides just playing the new one. I'm picking up my copy tomorrow and plan on staying up allllllll night. It's gonna be just like a high school sleepover, except without having to masturbate in my sleeping bag as quietly as possible. Per the video maker's comments at Machinima:

Lego Starcraft: Brick Rush

The blue Terran forces face off against the red Protoss threat in a classic battle for map domination and vespian gas!

Oh man, vespene gas. That's some toxic-ass stuff right there. Reminds me of the time I ran to the fridge for another beer and came back to catch my dog licking the last of the curry out of my bowl on the coffee table. I made her sleep in the kitchen that night and, no lie -- her ass melted the linoleum.

Hit it for the worthwhile video if you're into Starcraft, LEGO, stop-motion videos, or just pissing time away at work (if you're here you have to be into at least one).

starcraft lego, now this was just the beta, their still to busy with starcraft II so you have to w8 longer for the OBT, maybe should reduce cronoboost...

I know i'm about to get some GTFO comments about not deserving to be on Geekologie but...

I have never heard of this starcraft until recently and I have no idea what it could possibly be about or why there is so much hype.

What's special about it?

fuck, now I want to play starcraft and I'm stuck at work...

@8 GTFO JK Well maybe you aren't as old as some of us on here and that's fine Starcraft is a RTS game that came out in 1998(I have been playing it since the second week of release) It just three races the Zerg, Protoss, and of course Terrain. These three races are all fighting pretty much of domination(there is a lot more to the story line but i am cutting it short). It is a VERY amazing game and you should think about give it a shot I mean the graphics by todays standards are shitty, but the game is still none the less very great.

I once stayed up for 76 hours with Final Fantasy. When I finally closed my eyes, I still saw the battle scene behind my eyelids.

Goliaths Don't Attack Buildings With Hellfire Missiles. WTF??

goliaths using missils vs ground units?... great job

<3 Starcraft!

despite some goliath lols in there, pretty freakin sweet.

wow awesome stop motion look very fluid

Starcraft is a Korean national sport.

This fact has never ceased to amaze me.

If this isn't a plug for Starcraft II.

Anyway, this was actually very enjoyable to watch. I put many hours into Starcraft. Now I hear that Starcraft II cost over $100 million dollars, about 10 years to create and it doesn't even support DirectX 11. I hear they aren't selling the game with all three races either. You have to buy the humans first for $60 and then each "expansion" is another $60. So to have the complete game will cost you $180 bucks.

People are saying it's because it can't fit on a DVD. Well, isn't Blu-Ray the reason it is slowly replacing DVD? More storage. Someone told me Blizzard didn't use Blu-Ray because they want to make sure everyone that has a computer from 2000 can play the game. Someone also said that "What if my town didn't sell Blu-Ray, Blizzard would just say OH WELL" I replied "You can get a Blu-Ray for $15 on Newegg, and if your town DID NOT have a computer store with that option, you need to stop living under a ****ing rock!"

@ORLY
you hear that it cost $100million and 10 years to create? blizzard is essentially split up into main branch and blizz north.. whilst generally they don't share resources and focus on their own projects, you have to remember the games that came out after starcraft.

if you look at all past blizzard games, the specs ARE tailored for those who don't have maximum system specs. if you look at the industry, how many companies are releasing games on bluray? exactly.

as for the races, you are so wrong. they are releasing the first game Wings of Liberty with only terran single player. meaning you get the terran story in the first game, but you can play the other races in multiplayer. it has nothing to do with size of the disc either - as you claim you've put many hours into starcraft. if so, you too would be excited about the prospect of TWO expansions that will come with the zerg and protoss campaigns given the massive success and change brood war came with.

stop saying "i heard" or "people are saying" or "someone told me" and try research some stuff yourself before you go off on other people for living under rocks.. you just make yourself sound gullible and naive for hiding behind hearsay.

what no academy?!

as awesome as this looks, it is all over the place.
firebats without an academy?
goliaths attacking buildings with rockets?
and wtf was wrong with the marine and the firebat after their bunker was destroyed? they couldn't fire until the guys in front were dead?

Only 1 scv at start?
Firebats and goliaths without an academy or armory?
2 hero dragoons that can take out a bunker unharmed?
Goliaths that shoot missles at ground units?

This guy clearly doesn't play starcraft.

Ok this video was almost awesome but three things failed.

1. two dragoons couldnt take out a bunker and everything in it
2. Goliaths dont use missles on ground units
3. Missle towers didnt attack the carriers as they should have

Awesome video!
shame people have to complain about it because to get it all looking so good and smooth must have taken a hell of a lot of time and patience! Anyone complaining about it should do their own video and make it perfect before being such buttheads

I lol'd, 'cause I'm all 4. Oh GW, you know me so well.
