Apr 16 2010Curses!: Photoshop's New Content Aware Filter Is Good, Unfortunately Not That Good

damn-you-technology.jpg

For those of you who haven't heard because you live under rocks or in the middle of haystacks, Adobe dropped a new version of Photoshop earlier this week. And one of the big features it's hocking is a new "content-aware" filter that lets you select and delete objects out of a picture, and the program will use the information surrounding the object to effectively fill in the missing data (video demo after the jump). Unfortunately, it didn't work to remove Olivia Munn's top. Well, technically it DID, but only if you're into boobs that look like fleshy pancake batter. Which I'm not (funnel cake titties FTW).

Hit the jump for an Adobe employee demonstrating the content aware filter on the world's most boring picture.

Adobe's New Content Aware Fill Isn't Good Enough [buzzfeed]

Thanks to Pat, Stranger and b00geyman, who are all poppyseed muffin batter breast kind of guys. Now that's just sick.

@6 didn't see your comment before typing, the shadows were all wrong

Daisy Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'll look sweet on the seat
Of a bicycle built for two !

Just as I imagine, a sexy mutant

mmmmmmmmmm fleshy pancake batter *drool*

Mmmmm Olivia Munn = Olivia YUM

REAL!!!!

This is a totally not a photoshop job. You can tell its a real photo because the shadow's are all correct.

This is exactly like that scene in the Total Recall where that bitch with three titties comes out. That movie was based on a real event that happened in Germany in 1964 where Professor Jungoschaffen opened an inter-dimensional portal to Mars.

They are just making it look like a cover-up photoshop fake so they can have you believe she doesn't really look like that.

HOLY SHIT!!! This is awesome! I need to upgrade my photoshop.

Fuck Photohop, Microsoft Paint 4EVA!!!!11111!!!one!!!!

What would happen if you scanned in a page of text, and content aware filled a section of it..

What would it look like if you removed her nose or mouth?

Still looks better than Tara Reid's Boobs.

Still looks better than Tara Reid's Boobs.

That video sucks- it's making tiny, minute changes. Does anyone have a good picture or video of the feature?

GIMP has had the same function for a while now. It's called Re-synthesizer and you get the exact same results. I wouldn't be surprised if they both ran the same algorithm.

i used that content aware feature on a picture of paris hilton and my computer got a virus. damn adobe.

I thought the new Photoshop-feature was an aprils fools joke. I first heard of it on April 1st along with a video showing how some dude finished his homework using the feature.

GW, are u SURE this is real?

BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!

Yay! For Boobies!!!

Flapjacks!

The word you want isn't "hocking"; it's "hawking".
