Mar 15 2010I Can And Will Rob You: The Diamond iPad

diamond-ipad.jpg

You know what's classier than a diamond-studded iPad? Everything. Including Bedazzled jean jackets. But don't let that stop you from pissing away $20K on something I'll snatch from you and run.

"This gorgeous diamond studded iPad features 11.43 carats of diamonds, hand-set in a micro-pave styling. The diamonds are graded G/H in color and VS2/SI1 in clarity."

VS2/SI1? Pffft, those aren't even very nice diamonds! This is like the poor man's diamond iPad. No thanks, hobos!

Even MORE practical.... idiots

But Wait! There's More!

Act now and get a free Snuggie with book light!

That's right - a diamond studded iPad, a Snuggie and a book light all for 7 easy payments of $19.95 plus one hard ass payment of $19,860, plus shipping and handling.

There's no way that's a photo of the actualy thing either. Buy a diamond iPad from a company that doesn't even have one to photograph? Yeah great idea.

#5 you're wrong. Apple (Marketing) sends out fake products for companies that register to sell their products (ie, 3rd party websites).

They are plastic with just an image on a clear screen. Made from the same people who sell fake televisions, computers, etc for home models and print ads.

I have a fake iPad and 2 fake iPhones.

@5, yr rite, that's just a piece of cardboard covered in diamond gift-wrap with a photo pasted on top.

I just ordered two.

because the iPad wasn't expensive enough.

@6 Fake iPhones? Great for hanging-out! Want one! (Hope I don't have to make a call.)

You're all gay. Stop caring about stuff like this. Time should be devoted to bacon and pews (sexual or otherwise).

It's nothing more than an expensive sticker..............just saying

a narcissistic product with a narcissistic overhaul, just what conceded people need

This is just what I need!

@5 And @6
I think you idiots misinterpreted him. It clearly is a photoshop job. Look at the repeated texture.

@12 - awesome

i@#12, i second that. pew pew!

The iPad is the accessory here, becasue it's a disincentive to stealing the frame.

@12. Conceited.

can i just say that 14 was the only one to get it right

that shit's clearly shopped

diamond iPad.... makes me think of a femine product encrusted with diamonds.... which makes me think of "blood diamond" which makes me NOT want to watch the movie...... just sayin

Waste of money and precious diamonds. not to mention a waste of time, space, and everything in between. if i see you walking down the street with this im going to drug you, take the the ipad, pop out all the diamonds and then put it back on your passed out body. when you wake up you'll be like "what happened to my ipad" and then i will pop out from behind a corner and punch you in the face and say "you just got jacked and punched..that's my show, Jack'd and punch'd.

@14 - How do you know GW is a him!? I think it's all been a carefully plotted red herring.

The diamond thing would have to come off or you are screwed when the battery dies as you have to send the iPad back to Apple and they send you another iPad (for $99).

What a stupid thing to put diamonds on at any rate. When the newer version of iPad comes out, then what is the crazy bling-mad consumer going to do? The diamonds will only call attention to the fact that your iPad is an old model. (oh the embarrassment!)

Given the price of diamonds and the quantity required, I'd say this is an obvious scam : a real ipad covered in diamonds this size would be more like 200~300k.

Even if the quality of the diamonds was so low the thing was basically smeared with glue-aggregated diamond dust, it would probably still need to cost more than 20k in order to be a profitable operation.

Add to this a tragic photoshop job and what you have one of the most retarded hoaxes I've seen in a while...

I wonder what's the goal though :
is it only meant to create some buzz and collect som good ol' linking from PR5+ blogs and websites such as yours, geekologie writer ?
Or is it actually a real-life scam and they're going to collect payments and then speculate with the funds before they give customers their money back (or not) 6 months later ?

@18 doh, thanks
