Feb 2 2010Finger Candy: Gear Ring Turns, That's About It
The Gear Ring from Kinekt has functional gears in the middle that allow the bezel to rotate. And that's pretty much it. No lasers or anything. They're available in US sizes 9-12 for $165, and may need to be oiled from time to time. Not unlike the Tin Man! Who, fun fact: is not a robot. Don't get me wrong, I'd still crush his ass on my face like an empty beer can, he just isn't a robot. No laughing, Lion, you're next.

I was just looking at new wedding bands for my OWN sausage fingers. I had considered bacon, but that's like giving an alcoholic a scotch so that was out. This one might be a good #2 for a geek like me. :-P

@12, Guys don't change after marriage, chicks do. After ten years, try prying their ass off the couch as they consume a giant bag(s) of chips. Easier to just move. You won't need to get it resized.
On the positive, this thing has a real steampunk look to it. Bet it's really hurt someone if you punched them in the face.

That's stupid. I might buy it if it cost $15 but $165 for a simple gear mechanism? maybe if it turned by itself and had more gears..... it also looks like it would tear all of the hair off of my hands. ouch.

Nice, until the skin on the adjacent fingers (the sensitive, callus-free skin between the fingers) gets stuck in the gears. OUCH.

Being a big steampunker and working as a mechanic, this thing looks super cool to me.
I'd LOVE it as a wedding/engagement ring, or anything else for that matter. I'm thinking more from a girl 'I'd wear it' point of view. My guy doesn't wear jewelry in the first place so I guess
There are upsides and downsides to it;
getting caught in things, being hard to keep clean. But you can also take it off at times to clean it or when you are doing something that it could potentially get caught it.
