Jan 3 2010Millennium Falcon Guitar Great For (Han) Solos

falcon-guitar.jpg

This is a Millennium Falcon guitar that was spotted by intrepid Geekologie Reader Isaac. Except it's not really a functional guitar, it's just a guitar neck glued to a Millennium Falcon toy. Still, I suppose it COULD be a real Millennium Falcon guitar if you glued a pickup to it and added some strings. Or that might make it a marionette. I don't know, I'm not a musician. But I am a dragon slaya. Puff, don't f*** with me.

Thanks to Isaac, who shreds with the best of them. Documents -- he's been embezzling.

hi mr wads

I have that toy lol

third! and its a bass!!

that thing is almost as thick as my bass.

Yo quiero yo quiero! :3

The question is, is GW also known as Cubbybear, or is one stealing from the other?

ITS A BASS YOU IDIOT WRITER

A bass is a guitar you idiot reader.

Why the hell do people have to post "FIRST!" on every topic? This is happening all over the internet! Who gives a shit if you're first? You're an idiot with nothing constructive to say, and every time you post "FIRST! OMG OMG FIRST!" it makes you look like a complete jackass. Do you honestly sit on Geekologie pressing refresh over and over just so you can post "FIRST!" and make yourself look like a complete moron who has nothing important to say? Get a life.

Actually, that is a real functional electric guitar. I have a pic of it too on my cell phone, I watched the guy put it together. It's made by a local artist here in Santa Cruz. He makes guitars out of a wide variety of weird things. And they usually sound pretty good too.

Idiot!! It s fucking bass! You couldn't play a solo for shit on that thing. I've played guitar and bass for many many years.

All those old neglected star wars toys... just remember GW, they are all dinosaurs' by products!!! ;-)

Great, kid!

Don’t get cocky...

@10.. no, its not functional. it doesnt even has a bridge to fix strings on it :p and well... that plastic falcon wont sound any good. i guess the neck would brake out, cuz of the high tension of the strings.

@11... if that bass was functional you could play a solo on that thing for sure :p the big body woudlnt interrupt your playing.

It's a sitar you idiot peeples! A bass is a fish!

What are those black circular things on the right?

And who is Felix Kulpepper?

those round black things are vynils or record albums
if you knew anything about music you'd know

I've actually seen this in person, it's in Santa Cruz right behind Streetlight Records I believe, and the guy there is really rad. He makes other guitars too out of random things, like axes.

@14, this pic was before it was finished. Believe me, it is a real functioning bass guitar.

gw, fyi, there are those of us out here who are the slayers of dragonslayers so, watch your back. just a fair warning ;)

I must and will make this. Should be easy enough. I have that toy, I could cast it, do a solid pull of it and bolt on the neck. It would be a little more intense than that but it's already the right shape for a guitar body. You could even use the dish as a pot or a pick holder.

great

pickup and strings would help this poor beast tremendously....
despite the fact that it's a toy and a neck.

@16: You lead a sad sad life.....

It's not a electric guitar!! it's a bass guitar!!! XDDDD HAIL TO THE BASS!!.

The reason it wasn't finished was because George Lucas hunted the guy down and skinned him alive with a butter knife and sent the parts to all his living relatives.......

I still see it up in the window of a record store from time to time here in Santa Cruz....

I actually let out an audible "HEY!" when I saw this picture. I walk by there almost every day (or did, until Saturday when I moved back to LA). Last time I checked, it had no strings and was made of plastic...its just a neck attached to a plastic toy.
Cool display though. and YAY Santa Cruz, my hometown <3

@ 16 Felix Kulpa is a local artist who has his studio directly behind this record store. He does some nifty things with found pieces (obviously).

yeah, um...as awesome as that is, it's not just a guitar. It's a bass guitar. the difference is kinda important.

It's a freaking bass :D

Guitar? That's a bass guitar.

@8 no, a bass is either an upright bass, or a bass guitar. A guitar is either an acoustic or electric guitar. The term 'guitar' is never used for bass.

@11 well then you suck, if it was real then I could shred like there's no tomorrow on that falcon. But it isn't - no bridge. Then again it could be hanging there waiting for one, and if there was a more sturdy body inside the falcon then it would work, and it wouldn't matter that the falcon is plastic, the internal body would be the thing that makes the tone. Hmm, if this isn't real, it really should be.

BTW, that's a peavey MILLENNIUM neck.

oh snap this is downtown, streetlight FTW

@32 You JUST said that a bass is 'either an upright bass, or a bass GUITAR.' If it's never referred to as a guitar, then why did you?

And to the rest of you people, just enjoy the damn picture instead of complaining about every goddamn thing you set your eyes on. Your bitching is really really annoying and it accomplishes absolutely NOTHING

That's a bass...thought i'd throw that out there. Still 50 points for the star wars theme :D
