Dec 18 2009WTF Did I Just Watch?: Zelda Theme On Tesla Coils With Link Strange Man (Ingo?) In The Middle Weilding Master Swords Tubes
How can you look at that preview and NOT watch the video? You'd have to be out of your mind. Or unable to watch videos at work. You know, that might be something you want to consider before taking your next job. Which, funny story: you're fired.
Thanks to Camolai, who claims she beat Zelda II but I suspect she's lying just to make me jealous (you better be!)

I beat Zelda 2 when I was a kid.
It was one of the most painful experiences of my life.
23. Closet Nerd - December 18, 2009 1:12 PM
@19 I once threw an ice cream cake off of the roof. As I sat on the edge of the roof, thinking to myself, "Man, its gonna hurt if i jump from here" then next thing I know i'm falling through the air. I hit my (wet) deck, and land in a split, and sprained and tore my ACL in my left.... several months later, I ran into a tree and injured my right knee... found out several years later, that when i ran into the tree, i COMPLETELY destroyed that ACL, and I didn't have one for about 7 years..... just sayin

Anyone know a bypass proxy web browser i can use on a mac so i can watch these things?
25. Boog - December 18, 2009 1:31 PM
Garden Gnomes are magical creatures, but they're also spiteful little bastards. From the look on his chubby face, he was not happy about the 1.21 gigawatts shooting down his gnome hat.

26. naas - December 18, 2009 1:32 PM
@22 did you fall or something after throwing the ice cream cake? If so, I take it you didn't land on the mess to break the fall.... or is that why your deck was 'wet'?
27. LSDiesel - December 18, 2009 1:32 PM
@23, My lightning penis has healing qualities. One electric golden shower, and you're as good as new.
28. Closet Nerd - December 18, 2009 1:44 PM
@26 I was under the influence of.... well, lets just say I was under the influence. I was throwing the cake at a trolley that was passing out front (thre are tolley tracks that run up and down the street where i was living). I didn't fall. I was sitting on the edge of the roof (above my back deck) about 9'-10' above the deck, thinking damn it will hurt if i jump. Then next thing I know, I'm falling through the air.
It had rained earlier, that is why the deck was wet, and when i landed, my right leg shot straight out, and my left leg bent back and i landed in a split.
There is a time and a place for everything..... and its called COLLEGE
29. Closet Nerd - December 18, 2009 1:49 PM
@27 Thanks for the offer, but I took a cadaver's ACL, and had it put in my knee..... does that make me part zombie?!
30. naas - December 18, 2009 1:50 PM
@28 did you end up hitting the trolley with the cake, or did the cake break apart in mid air?
31. Closet Nerd - December 18, 2009 2:02 PM
@30 I missed the trolley COMPLETELY (it didn't break apart because it was a frozen ice cream cake) and I was WELL under the influence.... that was the apartment where we had a beer pong table set up in the dining room, with a keg tub filled with water for gravity bong hits from a 3 litre Gatorade bottle..... just sayin
It was one of these apartment buildings

I did A LOT, LOT, LOT, LOT of dumb shit when I was younger, and even more dumb shit while in college.... glad i got it all (at least most of it) out of my system before I had kids. Now i have some fun stories to tell, so no regrets.
Well I did feel guilty that one time... but then she woke up (just kidding)
33. naas - December 18, 2009 2:49 PM
@32 very interesting story Closet Nerd, I know more and more about you know that you'd want me to. I'm glad I didn't grow up with you or I'd probably still be in the hospital
I think we let this cease now though, as making these boards our own personal forum tends to piss off the others who used to listen to the band Tesla.... just sayin

I've watched several videos by Dr. Zeus and he's awesome. Looks like he always enjoy the shock of the experience, (haha, I know it was bad). But as @20 mentioned, Arcattack is a band that does this type of thing all the time. Dr Zeus' outfit is great, but Arcattack has a guy named "Parsec" in a full chainmail, (Faraday), suit from head to toe. He's able to walk around instead of remaining stationary because of it. They cover Zelda, Dr. Who, Imperial March, Popcorn, Cowtown (They Might Be Giants), and they also have an as*load of songs that are their own. You can check them out @ www.arcattack.com. They have pics, vids, and even an interactive Tesla Coil Emulator, (which you should play until the indicator bar is all the way red, surprise)!!!! They're based in Austin but travel the con circuit and other festivals and events from time to time. This year they even went to Abu Dhabi and the Netherlands before returning in time for Dragon Con. They're awesome geniuses!!! Enjoy, and share the nerd fun with all the nerdlings you know!
41. Camolai - December 18, 2009 7:54 PM
Despite all the awesome going on around Dr. Zeus, what I was really impressed by was that mustache. (And the fact that it did not burst into flames.)
42. Paty - December 19, 2009 2:43 PM
Two questions,
Who is this amazing man?
Does he do birthdays?
Props for Zelda theme.
