Dec 21 2009I'd Play It: Oh No...Zombies!, The Board Game

Oh No...Zombies! is a real $22 board game created by Archie McPhee. It probably sucks, but if you buy it I promise to play it with you at least once. Also, Twister. Just a heads up though: I have three legs. *wink* Well, one's a penis.

It's come to this. You're trapped in the middle of nowhere inside a rundown shack surrounded by zombies. Your cell phone doesn't get reception and the land lines just emit a constant busy signal. Your only hope for survival is to get to one of the abandoned stores so you can get a battery for the CB radio in the shack and a shotgun to help you survive the trip back. Good luck with that. Includes spooky gameboard, fourteen 2" tall, plastic game pieces, thirty-four cards and three dice.

That doesn't really explain the gameplay much, so I'll take this opportunity to make it up. You set up your character pieces in the middle, with the zombies in the exterior circle. Then, you roll the dice, get bored, and go play XBox. Fun!

Hit the jump for a closeup of the board and game pieces.

Thanks to efrulz and Yopoleo, who don't play board games, they play sheet-metal games.

Looks about as lame as every other board game I've ever played.... Fail.

if i was running from zombies i wouldnt stick to any paved walkways...

The game may suck but the website has a whole bacon catagory... WIN!

Zombies aren't a game, they're a real threat. People need to be more serious.

Very true, Left 4 Dead is all the zombie board game I need.

They misspelled "OH NOES".

they rushed this fucker out before christmas to monoploise on the zombie fad sweeping across the world (except afghanistan, all they care about is dope)

There are several really great zombie games that have been out for years. Where has the GW been, anyway? Mozambique?

If you want the very best, the Rolls Royce of zombie games, play Last Night On Earth. It flippin rocks.

It's from 2001.

Great promo shots, but somehow this doesn't strike me as being as fun as Orgy:

Last Night on Earth is the best zombie game board game. http://www.flyingfrog.net/lastnightonearth/

if the game is as interesting as the photoshop skills of the guy who did this ad then i opt against it..

those zombies scare me not, therefore, i wouldn't waste my time.

There are tons of great zombie games, why is this so especial?

Haha man, who cares about that, the motherfreaking win of Zombie board games is quite simply "Zombies!" and the many expansion packs that come with it. I've played some long games of that with many beers and some good friends and it's awesome. Damn sight better than this POS boardgame looks anyway.

Photocopier's got it right! ZOMBIES!!! by Twilight Creations is BRILLIANT fun! some friends introduced me to it, and i've infected my friends with it. we've even custom crafted our own player pieces.

hours of fun.

Nice...i want one for x-mas

Wow, this article jogged my subconcious memory of something.

Did I play a Zombie game when I was younger? I think so, I think it was a Thriller board game or something. You know, Michael Jackson?

That "Zombies!" game, and the expansion packs were amazing. I, too, spent countless hours, one game takin up to 10 hours to play, as we added all the packs together, and included all the helicopter pads, in an even more frantic scramble. We even added multi-sided dice, in an effort to speed things up. Good times.

What made the game awesome was each board was tile based, so you would construct entirely new boards each time you played. That and you could dick over your friends in an attempt to reach the chopper first. And if that's not trainng you for the Zombie apocalypse, nothing is.

Yeah cool! Some new zombie games.. thanks for the links! I have the "original" Zombies-Game http://www.twilightcreationsinc.com/zombies/ from Twilight Creations. It's pretty cool but could be cooler..

Another vote for "Last Night on Earth". It's like this one, but good.

We should see more games like this out there. Like zombie risk or something. I want more zombies.....zzzoooommmmbbbiiieeesss.....

Better than zombies.

There are like 50000 zombie themed board games. This crap looks like crap. What, did your gay friend design this tripe or something? Why is it on the site? How is this post worthy?

+1 for Last Night on Earth as the zombie game to go.
Zombies!!! is not really good, takes far too long and is frustratingly random

lol what this game has nothing on Zombies!!! and its expansion packs. I have Zombies!!!, zombies 3.5, zombie dogs, zombie clowns and zombies corpse. Simply amazing.
