I was only 10 when he died but I still really miss him, miss the band... It's amazing how insensitive people can be. I guess if you never known someone with and addiction problem you just can't understand. Suicide should never be taken lightly, even if it was something that happened 15 years ago; to make fun of it is disgusting. I live in Alaska and suicide is so prevelant in our villages we have the highest rates per capita in the whole nation. It's a very serious matter no matter who did it or how long ago.

@66 YES, NOT having the ability to play a complicated musical arrangement is by definition "Being a BAD musician" I can play all of nirvanas guitar riffs on my guitar, I CAN NOT play most of Pantera's (And I loved Pantera) and I would never consider my self a good Guitarist. And Yes I also Agree there is Plenty of Crap metal out there, I am just as likely to rip into a crappy Metal band as I am a crappy grunge/pop/punk/country/rap and whatever other kind of music a band can play. There is shit in all genres for sure. Also at no time did I say I was closed minded to other genre's, you simply assumed. In Fact I love Classical and listen to it often, especially at work. Kurt Cobain was nothing more than a Popular Idol (a fact he himself despised). I have no problem with People liking his music, Were I do have a problem is when people start spouting all this Bullshit sympathy for a man that CHOSE TO END HIS OWN LIFE. I feel no Sympathy what so ever for anyone who commits suicide, and I fully endorse your right to end your own life if that is your choice, Hell when and if I get to 85 and I am shitting my self I would gladly put an end to it. @74, I think Iron Maiden, Metallica (first 4 albums), Testament, Devin Townsend, Pink Floyd, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Hendrix, Pantera, BLACK SABBATH, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Mastadon, WEEN, and many more are much better than Nirvana, But then thats just my opinion :)

Oh I agree.. there is no harm in ending your own life. Well.. except to everyone you knew and had even a remote influence on. And sorry to say but a rock guy like Kurt influenced a lot of people and sent a message to them that your life can have a thousand great thigns in it, but if it gets hard to cope with you can kill yourself.

I HAVE had a friend kill himself. I have also had 2 other friends die in various non self induced ways. Hit rock bottom, have nothing and no one left and no way out. Then yeah maybe its ok. Or live in agonizing pain with no hope of a cure. Then its ok too.. But to sit on millions of dollars, to have the adoration of millions and to have your voice and musings listened to every day and a family that cares about you, and everything you could possibly want and THEN kill yourself?
