Nov 5 2009This Isn't Your Grandma's Cell Phone! Yes It Is.

If there's one thing old people love it's soft food. If there's another it's stuff with giant-ass buttons so they can push the right one with their shaky, arthritic fingers. Aaaaaand I've officially depressed myself. Good times. Anyway, this is a cell phone for old people and people with fat fingers. Or, as we like to call them in the hand modeling biz, Vienna digits.
The 6380 Senior Mobile Phone ($75 USD) does actually have a few handy features, including a built in flashlight, and a giant "SOS" button on the back that can automatically dial a pre-set emergency number, and emit a loud warning alarm. It's also got a minimal display with large on-screen fonts, and a whopping 128×60 screen resolution.
I kind of want one. Not that I have fat fingers, because I don't. I'm just clumsy. One time I tried ordering a pizza and ended up spending an hour on a phone sex line. DAMN YEAH I WANT PEPPERONI ON THAT!
Hit the jump for two more shots of the latest in geriatric communication technology.

An SOS button? Hmm...something the iphone doesn't come with. Although I'm sure theres an app for that.

I can just see an old person accidentally setting off the SOS button in their pocketbook, and then lookiaround at everyone else as if to say "What the hell is that noise?! Turn it off eh-hole!"

I would also suppose the SOS button works well with people with sausage fingers, for reasons I don't want to say - it may sound too mean. :B

This reminds me of the big button remote control for the tv, but i dont think that one has a sos button. I think i am going to create a big button computer keyboard, you know those old people and their computer games, facebook, twitter, posting youtube videos, i think a big button keyboard would make it easier for them.

MULTIMEDIA?
Yeah, the buttons are big, but the screen is still unreadable by granny standards. She's still gonna ask you to text Aunt Jemima.

This is awesome I need to get this phone right now, I hate using those tiny keyboard buttons. Still waiting for voice activation to be decent so an gui is not even needed.
