Nov 17 2009Eye Candy: Beautiful Toshiba Commercial Floats Armchair To The Edge Of Space

To demonstrate how good the atmosphere looks on a Toshiba television, the company floated an armchair and camera up to 98,000-feet with a helium balloon. It's a really beautiful thing to watch, right up there with catfights at the bar. Gouge her eyes out!

Thanks to nicobbg, Deputy Dog, Melissa, pouncer24 and naas, who are all convinced the moon landing was faked as part of a governmental money-laundering scheme. I wouldn't be surprised.

Where's Falcon? I swear he was around here earlier...

Now if only "Balloon Boy" was tied to that chair, THAT would have been beautiful.

"You guys feel like your floating?!"

Speaking of beautiful things in a bar..... one time, my buddy set the back of some dude's shirt on fire at the bar.... damn that thing caught on fire quickly.... one of the funniest things I've ever seen!!!! And we didn't even get kicked out of the bar.

@3 thanks to the tiny frosted leaves of this slightly purple-tinted flower in a small glass inner sphere, absolutely

@5 You lucky, Lucky, LUCKY bastard!!!!
Be polite and pass to the righ..... Closet Nerd

@6 my arm is stretched as far down from the trophosphere as it can reach

@3 only because of the drugs... not because of the illusion to viewing the chair from the outer most layer of the atmosphere

@4 Did some one ask to push in your stool afterward?

@10 No. I've HEARD that "Can I push in your stool?" is the #1 pick-up line in gay bars... but I see you already KNOW that.

@7 Go Go Gadget Arm!!!!

If I hadn't seen the chair explode, I'd be wondering who was going to sue
from getting clobbered with a fall furniture.

GO GO GADGETDICK

@16 Whipped that shit out, and ain't no doubt about it.
It hit the ground caused an earthquake and power outage.

My question is after you hear the balloon pop and the chair break, how were they still able to get the pictures?

I think they left the best part of the video off, ... the descent!

wait so you can just launch a weather balloon with a camera and relay what it takes back to earth?! I'M SO DOING THIS.

@20 nah you gotta go find where the camera landed :D

lmao @ the chair breaking up

Just as it was getting good.

If anyone wants to see the video on how they made that:

fisics nerds, tell me how come the chair explodes at the end??

The chair breaks apart at the end due to extreme atmospheric conditions (pressure). Watch the video at 23's link.

@13 wow, some one is a little touchy...closetnerd isn't the only thing in the closet obviously...
