Some guy is a selling a Wii he microwaved on eBay as a piece of art. It is one of the worst pieces of art I have ever seen. Did you hear that? That was Matisse falling out of his wheelchair in heaven.
For $5,998 on eBay, you could purchase a Microwaved Wii, which was "created through the unique art of microwaving by one of the most prominent entertainers and artists on the web."
"Kenny Irwin originals are projected to only increase in value as a collectors items and museums and media take notice of the world renowned art by Kenny Irwin that is unlike anything the world has seen before."
Wow, self promote much? Don't get me wrong, I do a lot of shameless self promotion myself, but that's only cause IF I DIDN'T I DIDN'T I'D THROW MYSELF IN A VOLCANO. *sniiiiiif* God I need a hug. And more airplane glue.

or alternately, that's probably a better use for a video game console with playstation era graphics.
once Project Natal comes out, the wii is going to be a totally useless piece of junk so you might as well throw it in a microwave and sell it for 6 grand.
unless nintendo comes out with a console with graphics equal to or better than the 360/ps3. psssh like that will ever happen.

WTF... If I was barely willing to pay for my crappy laptop and it was brand new, what makes this guy think someone would pay 30x the value of something after it's been nuked? My idea of art is about creating, not destroying, at least not in such a simple way. That's like throwing down my PC from a tall building and selling it for 30x it's value. Art? No. Stupid? The remote doesn't even come with the "art". A PICTURE of the Wii mote comes with the art. Worse than that, a picture of a "simulated" burnt out Wii mote. Not the real Wii Mote, mind you. A photoshopped simulated image. This is because he's keeping the original Wii mote because a) he's too lazy to nuke it. b) he needs a backup for the Wii he didn't massacre.
I wonder, if I asked him to just forego the picture and send me the nuked Wii... would he be willing to knock off $5912 from the cost? And free shipping?

This is one of the most spectacular works of art ever. We just saw his show at the AVAM back in September and I have to say if you do not understand his art you way out of his league. His art is legendary. Collectors from all around own his originals and being a gamer myself if I could own one of his originals I would. Someday if I make enough money I would gladly invest in one of his works. His microwaved Elite XBOX 360 Slug is by far the best. It's so awesome!
