Oct 9 2009I Can't Even Believe That's Real: Amazing Bullet Impacts At 1,000,000 Frames/Second

A million FPS, is that even possible? Because that's crazy if it is (also, black magical). I'll probably never do anything a million times, let alone in a single second. But regardless, this is a 10:00 video of bullets doing their thing in super slow-motion. There's some pretty sweet glass breaking action at 4:30, some ballistic gel destruction right after, and some absolutely amazing footage of bullets disintegrating against a steel plate starting at 6:20. It's just so....beautiful. I can honestly say I've never wanted to be shot so badly. Anybody here in a gang?!

Youtube

Thanks to jamal, who has never missed the bullseye or a day of class. Good attendance AND a sharp shooter -- I like your style, jamal.

now if they can make a camera to catch how fast i get done with ladies

Yeah @3 not sure they make something like that. You need to be in at least 1 sec

that was awsome

@5

That WAS awesome.

@6

Agreed, that WAS awesome.

Especially the shotgun blasts at the end.

anyone else enjoy the awesome minimal techno that played with the video?
Props to the guy that added the song perfect fit

FAKE!!!!

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max dressed up in his monster costume and made trouble and was sent to his room without supper.

That was really AWESOME!!!!
.... but on another note, the holidays can be really hard on people

I am SO going to buy an illegal gun after watching this, and shoot me so zombies in 1x10^6 fps.

SAVE BULLETS FOR THE ROBOTS!

That has to be the coolest thing I've ever seen.

FAKE!!!!

This is a complete photroshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max was mopping the head and his friend expressed a desire to slip his tubesteak into Max's sister. Max asked what he was willing to trade.

Yo! I'm not in a gang but just about everyone else in my suburb is. I guess thats what you get if you live in LEBKEMBANON bitches!!! (Lakemba)
Seriously, there are gun sales and drug sales everywhere from the park next to my house to the CATHOLIC school bathrooms.

I can easily get someone I know to shoot you :)

Anywayz, that vid was EPIC. All I need now is a camera like that and I can replicate that video :P

Cool video.

Nice porno music. Not like I know anything about that... =p

Oink!

bloody amazing !! WOW ! Need more guns Stat !

I learned from this video. Mainly that if someone shot at Iron Man, there would be a lot of people around him dead from bullet fragments alone.

Muy Awesome!

...I...I...It's Beautiful!

@24... Weird. And a little sick.

On another note, AWESOME video! I wish there was more shotgun like at the end.

Next stop.....rocket launchers!

There's some serious hydrostatic shock action going on with the ballistics gel here. That's what happens to the organs in your body cavity when you're shot center mass. Not only do you have a neat little entry hole, you have turned the innards into what basically amounts to hamburger. ...sometimes you get a nasty exit wound. The hydrostatic shock can kill you, the blood loss, infection from contaminates on the bullet, your shit can leak into your body cavity, any number of things, your nerves are shocked and you can actually experience death from being shot in the arm, in some instances. Guns are meant to do one thing. Destroy.

Don't ever point your weapon, loaded, or "unloaded", at anything that you are not wiling to destroy. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded.

I'd like to see the effects on flesh, like say ...bacon.

I call shotgun!!!

I can't believe no one made that joke...

Anyway, I love the "armor piercing rounds" and the pellet was pretty impressive (too bad my pellet gun won't do that). I personally love shooting in a long range target facility... I love shooting .22 but moreso than that is my lovely .44 Ruger Super Redhawk (9.5 inch barrel).

What I'd like to see are tracer rounds on high speed... Although that might damage the camera if it's a digital... (too much light from one source perhaps)...

Hey man that was really a fantastic blog you share with us, its really a nice and very helpful for us and for all who read this nice blog..

they dont have cameras that work at 1,000,000 frames per second. i believe the maximum speed is almost 10,000 frames per second. by the way, you can see bullets doing that at just 1000 frames per second

I got the reference to the music: "What we don't notice..." is the interactions at the time scale of 1mil fps, undetected to our eyes in real life.

so u wana be shot hu *click* ok we can make it happen :/ *wink*
ahh who am i kidding who could possibly shoot the Geekologie writer THE LEGEND him self??

It's just so....beautiful. I can honestly say I've never wanted to be shot so badly. Anybody here in a gang?!
