Sep 23 2009R2-D2, Gaming Droid Has Eight Consoles Packed Inside His Tummy, Head Projector

Popular Science reader Brian De Vitis (truth in Brian) went and stuffed eight different gaming consoles into a life-size model of R2-D2. Can you name all of them? Because I can. I'm just not going to because I don't feel like it. SO THERE. I love wire tangles!
Hit the jump for a shot of R2's insides. Also, first one to name all eight systems doesn't win a prize. These are not the consoles you're looking for!

R2D2 turned into retro gaming shrine, includes head-mounted projector [engadget]
Thanks to Obama Pacman, Rail, + Guy, Chookie and Ryan, who once crammed 12 consoles into C-3PO and then stuffed him in a garbage compactor. God, was that guy annoying.

The only thing better than owning this would be getting laid once in your life. Clearly, this guy disagrees. And so does the homo that posted right below me.

There are stuff money can't buy.
Fisting and stuffing 12 consoles up C-3PO's ass = Priceless.
9. SAMSON - September 23, 2009 10:57 AM
Xbox, N64, PlayStation, Dreamcast, sega Saturn, NES, SNES , and an Atari 2600. FTW!

That's all nice and well, but that zapper on the floor won't do a thing! The NES zappers rely on the refresh rate of the (CRT) TV. I doubt that the projector refreshes the same way a CRT does. (And I doubt there's a CRT projector in there)
13. Johnny B - September 23, 2009 11:10 AM
Too bad most of those game systems are now obsolete.
14. Android Boy - September 23, 2009 11:11 AM
I can see more than 8
Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PSOne, PS2 (maybe, cuz I see 4 PS pads), Xbox and a Gamecube on the head.
Am I wrong?
15. LSDiesel - September 23, 2009 11:13 AM
That is one of the worst R2 cases I have ever seen. He looks like a metal chode.
16. Android Boy - September 23, 2009 11:14 AM
Lol no, the one on the head is the Dreamcast, sorry u.u

Nice, and well done.
I have a good portion of those games & a few thousand other outdated games thanks to the wonderful world of m.a.m.e. The droid multiconsole setup is damn sweet though, well done.

25. Pork'n'beans - September 23, 2009 11:55 AM
Xbox, PS2 (not PS1 since PS2 is backwards compatible), NES, SNES, N64, Dreamcast,Sega Genisis (3-button pad), and Atari 2600 (Although the controller is from a 7800). Am I nerdy enough?
26. LAW - September 23, 2009 12:00 PM
There isnt any sega saturn. jeez
These are the systems he has in there (from left controller to right):
Xbox, PSX, PS2, Sega GENESIS, Super Nintendo, Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, Atari 7800, and Atari 2600
10 systems. Atari 2600 used both style controllers so it could be just a 2600 in there which makes it 9 systems
27. LAW - September 23, 2009 12:02 PM
@ Pork'n'beans
Just because PS2 is backwards compatible doesnt mean that those arent PSX controllers. Thos are indeed GREY PSX Dual Shock 1 controllers.
28. meowmo - September 23, 2009 12:12 PM
so f.ucking cool
29. Blastphemer - September 23, 2009 12:38 PM
Wow...the pic alone made me blow a load into my green fleshlight. Sorry, Yaddle...papa's got a brand new bag.
Cool rig. I'd have definitely just set up the projector to loop the holographic image of Leah pleading with Obi-wan for help...but I'd have been a total dick and dubbed my name over Ben's.
Now then...where the hell i can get one of those life-sized r2 kits? anyone? anyone? Bueller?....

Xbox,(PSX)PS2,SNES,NES, Sega GENESIS,Nintendo 64,Sega Dreamcast,Atari 7800.
not rlly seeing the 2600's unless its right above the 7800's but it hard to tell >.>
:D also just wanted to point out how he has the controller/joystick/and the gun for the NES. nice show
32. ian - September 23, 2009 1:25 PM

33. DrNecropolis - September 23, 2009 1:35 PM
All that work and he doesn't have the 6 button Genesis controller? He must like hitting start while playing SF2
34. Blastphemer - September 23, 2009 2:52 PM
@30
To bum hartwell37's line - Those were NOT the 'roids I was looking for.
I was thinking maybe something more along the lines of this ==>

Pork and Beans is the only one totally correct so far. As far as the 6 button vs the 3 button Genesis controller, I think this guys is going for the more original look by going with the first run. And who ever said these systems are "obsolete" should be bound and gagged for insulting the very core of our quintessential born-in-the-early-80's childhood that I know was the best time of my life.
42. Andrew - September 23, 2009 11:58 PM
Now all 8 systems can overheat at once!
43. Kahsyrbag - September 24, 2009 2:42 AM
I wish I was born in the before the 80's, I would have loved to grow up in the 80's. I collect old consoles I have the Superscope for the SNES, Intellivision with voice modulator, NES, and Sega Saturn controllers.
44. Jaded Icon - September 24, 2009 7:11 AM
@ 41
WHAT?!?!? You mean kids younger than us will insult how we used to do things?! That's pretty much their prerogative. Of course ours is to tell them that they are sh*tty little brats and insult OUR older generation. Pong? Pfffft....
45. xygoz - September 24, 2009 10:11 AM

53. Johnny Lava - September 29, 2009 1:40 PM
I would have put a 360, ps3, wii, and a pc running mame and emulators only. Then you can have everything plus you can have wireless. for the most part all the system do backwards games and mame and emulators do the rest.
54. Karly - October 1, 2009 5:29 PM
awesome!!!!!!!!!! wow. that's.... amazing <3
I have a lot of nintendo systems (nearly all, I don't like the Dreamcast)
but I couldn't cram all of them into my dad's R2D2 without serious issues happening... like fire... haha
