I am deeply saddened by this event. Seeing as how every individual product number on display in that store is on record, these morons should have no trouble getting themselves caught trying to sell this stuff.

@ anthony - you've clearly never used a mac, i've yet to use a PC that performs as well as any of my macs at either producing visual arts or video which is what I do. If all you do is surf the net and read your e-mail a PC is fine, if you want your machine to do work and not bother you with anti-virus updates every day, you need a mac.

Wow...this is from my local news channel but I hadn't seen it before now. Dan Cuellar loves to hear himself talk, so I'm not surprised he talked over it making idiotic observations. Really Dan? I attend a small engineering school called Rose-Hulman which you've probably never heard of... but we use our computers for more than just browsing and email. And the IT department chooses the laptop we have to buy. They've never picked a Mac. Ever. And they are responsible for picking one that will be rock solid for 4 years of school.

Que uninformed. The Mac definitely makes it easier for you (and many other tech unsavy peoples) to do what you do, but it absolutely cannot do anything that PC is unable to do. The Mac GUI is more user friendly and its security is definitely nicer than that of Windows, but that is where the advantages end.

Mac users are a marketing wet dream - proof that perception is greater than reality.

For most of us (is it 90% of us?), the perceived benefits dont warrant the 2x price tag of a Windows system with comparable hardware. The business/enterprise features of Mac are also sorely lacking...

As a software guy that does quite a bit of work on both platforms, I am honestly fine with either. But for my home use (where I have to pay), the Windows machine wins out...the added expense of the Mac simply isnt worth it.

I find it funny that people flip out over the Apple price tag, yet when you put together a system from a vendor such as Dell, Gateway, etc, the price tag is only a couple hundred dollars less, if that. Plus, with a Dell, you get an ass ton of viri and malware. What a deal!

An engineering school? Well duh they're going to use PCs instead of a mac because it's INDUSTRY STANDARD. Until now the decision has been solely software driven. I've attended Cooper Union and NC State as an engineering student and both promote the use of macs now that we can run Windows based CAD and modeling programs on them. THANK GOD FOR PARALLELS.

A computer that costs 1000 dollars and ships with 2 gigs of ram and a 2.1 GHz processor is a bad deal. I don't care if it runs on rainbows and spooges unicorn juice, you can get more for less. I also use OS X Ubuntu and Fedora, but that fact would only matter to rational people. I've never had a problem with Vista or 7. They run more of the applications that I want and the games I play. That's it. It's my preference, and that's really all it comes down to. I havent had to reinstall Vista, 7, or Fedora either (though I did royally screw up Ubuntu once. It was actually pretty awesome..) so I'm not sure what you're trying to say..

Macs can get viruses just as easily as PC's its just that PC's have been around longer and are definitely more popular so there isn't as many people making viruses for macs as there are PC's. Oh yeah and I've been running this PC for 5 years now, never had to reformat, and update packages are auto installed when I shut down. Hm oh no My computer takes an extra minute to shutdown for updates. We have to use macs for school and honestly I hate them with a fiery passion. Why pay double for a rig that does the same things as a rig that costs half as much? Yeah makes perfect sense. Plus building your own PC that is actually capable of playing any game you want it to costs less than a mac that can hardly play any games and make them look good enough that your eyes don't bleed. Don't get me started on independent software compatibility.....

My spouse works at MS and uses a Mac to do so. The company provided PC does not cut it for what the work requires. Also, endless complaints about shoddy coding from India and China. Seriously, they work cheaply for a reason (cheap workmanship!). All that said, Vista runs mostly flawlessly on the intel Macs.

i don't care if mac is more powerful than pc and less hassles with viruses. apple company is a douche-bag company for making their equipment too expensive. they tried to go into the low budget arena with the mac mini and everyone i've talked to says mac mini is crap compared to a full Macintosh.

and even if they made affordable powerful machines...i still wouldn't get one because i hate the mac operating system. can't do hardly any customizations (with looks or functionality). and even if there are ways to customize almost any part of osx you have to be a super geek to do them. i would rather have easy to do tweaks and customizations that one can do with windows, thank-you-very-much.

guys guys guys... arguing about mac vs pc. they both have they strengths, but considering how apple markets their products as opposed to the pc market... they are completely different. the apple market tends to critisize pc. and besides... you can run a virtual computer with a windows, aka bootcamp in macs... it's not amazing that you can swap between os's. stop arguing. goshhh. my HP tx2500 was 800, while my gfs macbook pro was ~1300. If you think the price premium is worth it then go for the mac.

as for the video, grats to the guys that stole the macs. that was a swift one go take. and as for the people that are calling them stupid... i'm sure they are smarter then you in the criminal field, so honestly don't start judging just because they didn't take the power coords either... because guess what? those could be easily purchased for a fraction of what the computers actually cost! =O who would have thought of that!
