Apple just released an updated iPod Nano which features a bigger screen, 640 x 480 video recording, voice recording, and FM radio capabilities. As usual, they come in all sorts of fun colors so you can match your media player to your eyes (Chinese girls do not come with green eyes -- anybody?!). 8 giggers cost $150 and 16 bangers $180. Is it worth an extra $30 to double your storage? You be the judge. I'll play the bailiff! Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Good, now where were you last night around 10PM? Because I was peeking in your bedroom window but you weren't theeeeere!

Bigger screen, bigger hard drive, takes photos, records audio, takes videos, plays videos, has FM radio...
It's nice to see the iPod is finally getting a lens and all, but you KNOW alot of that stuff could have been added earlier. It seems Apple just always wants to have something new up it's sleeve to give the iPod when sales start to droop, even if it's something seemily fundamental, like the new lens and access to FM radio. My guess is Apple's next move is to add internal bluetooth for things like wireless syncing, and connecting to radios and tv's without using cables or a transmitting dongle. Or maybe even a search option where you could hum or sing a song into a mic to have voice recognition software use that sample to search for and find similar sounding songs (which could also be used to create playlists of similar sounding songs). This is why I plan to continue using my current iPod for as long as possible, until it either breaks beyond repair (I've already had to replace it's battery and headphone jack myself) or Apple stops supporting it to the point where it's incompatible with iTunes or most other software.
By the way, wouldn't it seem like a better idea to put the lens more towards the top rather than the bottom? For me, it seems like anyway I would try to hold that would cover it up.

omg, i cant tell anyone how ma i am, the new ipod touch doesnt have a camera but this little shit piece does?! wtf!! apple is going to loose alot, and i mean ALOT of buyers and fans because of this and i am certainly NOT buying the new ipod touch..but in other words..a camera in this little thing is prety revolutionary..very dissapointed

Sigh... I guess part of the awfulness of being an iPod owner is seeing how much more awesome the new ones are than the (relatively) new one you have... I got the nano 4th gen when it came out. And that was what, a little over a year ago? Now they have an awesomer one for 20 bucks cheaper with a video camera, FM radio, and a bigger screen (read: AWESOME MOVIES).

I really wouldn't get an ipod for video capture.. my digital camera already does that. And why would I want the radio when I have my favorite songs already on my ipod? I'm not even anywhere for that long to want to watch a video away from home. So it's pointless.. for me.

Seriously, now they add capabilities almost everyone else had. Like, thank you, consumer zombies, for sticking with us even though we were like a n00b prostitute: not as much capability but far more expensive. We will reward you by having you pay -more- to get the stuff your "less cool" friends have had all along. Oh, and a camera. That you have to hold upside down so you can effectively push the button without blocking the lens. Good luck trying to see what you're shooting for, though.
Oh, and make sure to get all the new accessories to make sure the video camera part is useful.
And don't forget to laugh in the face of everyone with an SD card slot!

Still unknown. Will this ipod nano so new RECORD OFF THE FM? I want to be able to save Fresh Air when it comes on at work. Will it at least do that? Any Sansa will do that, some in stereo.
I'm not hearing any YES, so I'm beginning to conclude that the iPOD FM Nano will not record FM off the air, meaning it is brain damaged.
