Aug 8 2009Light Graffiti: The LED Spraypaint Can

led-spraypaint.jpg

Halo is an LED spraypaint can by French designer Aissa Logerot. Basically, instead of spraying paint (which, kids, you shouldn't huff), it has an LED that sprays light!

the LED light can change colors and brightness on the fly and while it's powered by an internal battery that can be charged by shaking of the can.

"Graffiti artists can conserve their own gesture they have with an aerosol spray. It is possible to change the color and the brightness of the led to change the graffiti's styles. If the light doesn't have enough battery, the user must shake it to have energy again."

Sure you could do the same thing with any LED, but I like the can form factor. Plus, I like shaking things. So, what should I spray first? I'm leaning towards A WAY TO YOUR HEART. Then, once you're mine, a dinosaur eating an airplane.

Thanks to naas, who once sprayedpainted the side of an entire building with urine.

FIRST!!!!

Coool, this looks awesome :) I want to try it out

Sweet.

Sweet.

I sprayedpainted the side of GWs house with vomit once, inside

FAKE!!!!

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never BAck Down where Max got caught spray painting graffiti on a building, and although he tried to tell the police it was underarm deoderant, he was eventually sent to live with his aunt and uncle in bel-air.

LOL @ DAISY

Also, the light would last like fück all time, and you'd probably need to record it to even see what the fück you wrote LOL

Pttt anyone with a decent digital camera and a keychain flash light can do this. Hell, even Picasso got a chance to do that in his day.

Picasso used a sparkler

I thought this was a really stupid idea, till I read that part about being able to shake it to charge the batteries.

That's awesome!

/a laser works just as well though, or any kind of led flashlight

want fumes to enter my nostrils
give me the fumes

That had to be the funniest Daisy post ive ever seen.

OK first to admit I'm an idiot but this doesn't actually spray anything right? All you are doing is turning a light on and off. Changing colors, shake the batt, bla bla bla I know but really, what possible function does this serve?

sigh paint is no fun without them mess. If we didn't have messy paint when we were kids i guarantee we would all be infertile and confused. I guess it was inevitable.

@13 I agree. Graffiti, legal or otherwise, is a visual art. The only way you'll actually see what someone is writing/drawing with this is if you have a high-speed camera.

Well normally I'd say that it is a waist of talent, but judging by the sloppy line work of his primary hand that guy has no artistic talent whatsoever.

Hardly a new invention by this guy. There's a far better product on thinkgeek which allows you to see what you draw anyway.

Daisy... That was awesome...

jaycob: seriously dude. "Canadian Cannabis", right in their banner it says "bringing STONNERS together"
I-fückin'-ronic!

Gw's already made his way to my heart :)

I never like to encourage stupidity, but at the same time, I must give recognition to hilarity. Daisy, well done.

Oh come this can is actually a government device in which the censer in the tip of the plastic can can detect what you are write and exactly where you are. All the government wants from the people is EVERYTHING. They just want to take over LED standing for Light Emitting Diode. Diode is a radio valve. RADIO now they are listening through our lights!!! NO ONE IS SAFE!!!

@ conspiracy

You sound hot!!! Are you SURE you are human?

oh yea and the LED thing is awsome too I guess.

@ everyone, especially 25. you guys smell like my balls after sex. i wish a bear would chew you face off, like in that movie Face Off

@26
I smell like I just had sex with your mom. Twice. Like in that movie The Graduate.

I thought, well good idea, this and that, but shaking to recharge showed how deep he thought this idea over. WELL DONE! Which isn't something to say to the parents of a lot of the posters here, btw.

@17: At $49 smackaroos, that device is pretty pricy! My guess is that only the coosh coosh Graffitti artists in Bel Air use this brand of spray paint!

lol the thing is us "stonners" are lazy bastards and we just don't give a sh!t in general so we prefer to change the spelling of words than admit we made a mistake so i hereby redefine the word "stoner"

Stoner, a noun, the person who removes the testicles of kittens with dull stones...

and we at Canadian Cannabis DO NOT condone kitten castration

Fiction beats Reality for 2 years...

Tagging is not art

I like the look and idea of this but u dont have the advantage of mixing and matching of colours, fine detail, stencils and the adrenalin of bombing things, me myself would stick with spray paint than a little LED light.

Checkout this video of light graffiti by Talk Talk. It's brilliant! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC9VO0QvnGM

I think this is amazing! If you like this - there’s a guy from Wales called Michael Bosanko that does incredible light graffiti. YouTube clip of him here:

And he does a tutorial on how to create light graffiti on YouTube too.
