Jul 22 2009TASER TASER TASER!: New Taser Shoots Three Probes For Zapping Multiple Perps
The TASER X3 is just that, a taser that shoots three separate probes for shocking several victims at once. Or, fire them all into one perp and watch that sucker light up like a Christmas tree!
The new weapon will be officially unveiled on July 27th, but in anticipation of that glorious day, TASER has kindly posted an employee demonstration video of shooting three entirely underpaid women in the back, to the applause of onlookers.
Yes, women. And yes, the guy yells TASER TASER TASER before blasting them all. Which, apparently, is the cool thing to do. Now I'm not saying I could have taken all three shots and still been standing, but I totally could have. Hell, I could have probably taken five. No, ten. Twenty! GIMME THE CHAIR!
Triple-shot TASER X3 imminent, deranged employees celebrate with mock executions [engadget]
Thanks to Julian and michelle, who could take like fifteen shots and still punch you in the face.

I don't know why people have such a problem with tazers. They don't hurt you, or do any long term damage, they just stun you. The feeling people get sometimes make them freak out. But they're fine.
You know its painful when they piss or shit themselves.

I hate to be a fact whore, but there are actually 6 leads total in that gun. 2 leads for each target. After the guy shoots all 3 targets notice there are more than just 3 wires hanging from the gun. So pretty much a whole lotta ZAP no matter what way you look at it!!

electric shocks may stop or start your heart depending if youre dead or not
16. JFreezy - July 22, 2009 6:05 PM
@12
They don't hurt??!?! That is incorrect. Have you ever stuck you finger in an electrical socket? Yeah, that shit hurts! You feel pain for sure when getting tased, not to mention the two spikes shot into your skin. It's not extreme pain, but it hurts. Those chicks have balls of........I mean vaginas of steel for doing this.

@ #1: Me. It's not as bad as everyone thinks. When it stops you actually feel pretty euphoric. Sort of like hitting yourself in the head with a hammer. It didn't stop MY heart, or make me lay a steamer or anything. Think of it as a 5-second full body massage. I was immediately ready for a nap afterwards. And a smoke.
In fact, just thinking about it again---aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm spent.

He'll be doing in the field.

@12...thank you for showing us how stupid you really are, you know beyond your useless posting some idiotic random movie quote because you're unable to actually think for yourself.
There have been 103 related deaths caused by tasers between 2001 and 2005 in the U.S. and Canada and one third of the people shot by a taser need medical attention.
Now do us a Goddamm favor next time that insignificant chunk of gray matter you have bounding around in your skull tries to produce something that remotly resembles an intelligent thought, do some f.u.c.k.i.n.g research.

24. Pistol Pete - July 22, 2009 7:44 PM
@ #23: I wanna taze you just reading that. Crab-BY.
In my world ALL the people (that's three thirds, if you prefer fractions) who get tazed get medical attention. They automatically get an exam by the docs before being booked, and the docs remove the probes, not the cops.
Lotsa people die from lots of things. Deaths have been blamed on heart failure based on excessive drug use and fighting themselves out, being pepper sprayed, getting hogtied, and positional asphyxia. All cops can do is try to make the entire process as safe as possible for EVERYBODY. If it turns into a physical confrontation, that's the choice of the person being arrested. Until they invent something that can teleport a suspect in .0000009 nanoseconds from the scene to the pokey, sometimes things are going to go wrong. The golden rule still applies, though--Do unto others and don't be a jackhole. Then NOBODY hasta die or get tazed. Or sprayed orange like the great pumpkin. Or bonked on the head.
25. Pew³ - July 22, 2009 7:58 PM
@23. Not a fan of movie quotes, huh? OK, got it.
How come your stats stop at 2005? Just curious. I'm not smart enough to look them up myself. But you figured that out already. You can tell alot about me by my silly little posts.
I would love to have a serious discussion with you, but I like to keep it lighthearted here at Geekologie. There's other, more serious forums to have those discussions. But I don't have to tell you that, right?
Oh by the way, which third of the three women needed medical attention after the demonstration? I missed that part.

@25 learn to use that "Enter" key...i don't read idiotic "Wall 'O Text"
@26
You wanna keep showing off your complete ineptitude on this subject? very well i'll humor you.
This year alone 25 people have died due to taser related deaths, two were teenagers 17 and 15..want to know how Derrick Jones, the 17 y/o died...a cop reported that Mr. Jones "Came at him quickly"..Derrick was 5' 7' and 130 lbs,
But i guess he was too much of a brute to be restrained by a trained police officer, right?
Want to know how Brett Elder, 14 died? he was drunk and fighting so one of THREE officers tased him...Brett Elder was 5' 6" and 140 lbs. and was tasered -after- he was handcuffed, as described by neighbors.
But i guess three trained officers couldn't restrain one 140 lb. intoxicated boy, right? oops, no wait they did...but i guess his massive hulk-like strength was too much for those puny handcuffs, so they tasered a restrained boy.
Since you have no idea if the people on this vid possibly needed medical attention or not i'll consider your retort to be that of a desperate mind trying to look like he actually has knowledge of this subject., but here's an answer anyways....because like thousands of others that get tasered (like the 71 y/o grandmother in Texas) they were lucky.
Police in five U.S. States have filed lawsuits against Taser International for injuries sustained during the same type of demostration, so again...you speak about something in which you have no clue.
The problem with people such as yourself is that the taser is simply a means to an end, a "safer way" you and people like you cite how many haven't been killed by these devices and think that makes it just fine, you ignore the ones who died needlessly because it doesn't fit your f.u.c.k.e.d. up and distorted view of the world.
"They don't hurt you or do any long terms damage, they just stun you"...be sure to tell this to the parents of the two children they had to bury because of these "safe" products, i'm sure they'll agree.
There's keeping things "lighthearted" and posting about things in which you know NOTHING about, your ignorance is insulting to any intelligent person walking this Earth.

@ 27
Geezy Creezy!! Anyone can pick apart any product with single incidents and claim they are incredibly uncalled for. Your statistic for 103 people dying from tasers in a 4 year period means (math don't fail me now) that 25.75 people have died from taser related incidents. Now I want you to post how many people were tasered per year as a whole and then we can decide on whether your argument is sound or not.
BTW: Your example of the Brett Elder is redick, because what sane person would want a police office to wrestle with a hostile suspect and give him a chance to take the 9 mm from his belt.
BTWA: You hippies make me sick.

35. Pew³ - July 23, 2009 11:14 AM
@ Averre. I wasn't going to post these stats, becuase the ones I found were a few years old. Then I remembered your 2001-2005 stats.
The FBI reported in 2007 that 57 law enforcement officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty last year; 83 officers died in accidents while performing their official duties; and 59,201 officers suffered assaults while on duty.
Of the 57 officers feloniously killed, 16 of the slain officers were involved in arrest situations, 16 were ambushed, 11 were performing traffic stops, five were answering disturbance calls, and four were investigating suspicious persons or circumstances. Of the remaining five officers who were feloniously killed in the line of duty, three were in tactical situations (e.g., high-risk entry); one was performing investigative duties; and one had custody of a prisoner for transport.
Offenders used firearms to kill 55 of the 57 victim officers. Of these 55 officers, 38 were slain with handguns, eight with rifles, and eight with shotguns. The type of firearm was not reported for one officer’s death. Two officers were killed with vehicles that were used as weapons.
If I am a police officer, I don't want to be on this list. As you can see, there are quite a few more police officer deaths than tazer 'related' deaths. I don't care how big or small a person is, when you are an officer and someone is charging you, you don't want to find out if you're big enough to win the fight. A tazer is still the safest way to avoid a confrontation that could go bad.
Now lighten up. It's a beautiful day. And hopefully you won't get tazed.

Pfffttt. Pirates were way ahead of them: http://website.lineone.net/~da.cushman/ducksfoot.html
@Pew3 - How do your stats support the use of tasers? If 55 of 57 officers were killed with firearms, I doubt the dead officer would have picked their taser to fight off a gun-wielding criminal. The two others were hit by cars. I would guess tasering a car wouldn't do dick. If anything, your numbers show that officers need better safety training, since 46% more died from accidents than were murdered.
Police were supposed to use tasters instead of guns. The problem is they often use them in place of dialog or common sense. There's no excuse for tasering an 8-year-old boy or an old woman in a wheelchair.

well instead of one person shitting themselves, lets have triple the fun. Wait is this the reason my boxer briefs come in a 3 pack? i knew there is a reason beyond this madness, scent, poopie drawers.
38. Seijornec - July 23, 2009 8:27 PM
"There have been 103 related deaths caused by tasers between 2001 and 2005"
This is not correct. The number is much, much lower. I don't have the actual figure in front of me but the Taser has only been ruled to be the cause of death a only a very few cases. It has been found to be a contributing factor in more cases but not the cause of death. FYI - I'm a police officer and Taser instructor... Also it is kind of dorky but yelling Taser, Taser, Taser is part of the taser operator training and is done to let those around you know that the Taser will be deployed.

This is just more proof that women have to work harder to keep their jobs than men. I could have understood if there had been at least one dude getting tazed too, but its allllll women.
