Jul 28 2009Printing Press Gets TRON-ified, Glowy

tron-press.gif

Geekologie Reader Jason went and decked out an oldschool printing press TRON style (to celebrate the anniversary of the film earlier this month) by adding some glow in the dark tape. This is an animated gif, so if you give it a minute it'll automatically switch between lights on and lights off mode. Personally, I only like printing in the dark. Somebody get the switch. Now, who's ready to create some headlines? Feka dlawe wewa pinme awqiro bglkuv sweey. Success! Now rubber band and bag 'em, boys, it's raining out. Who just touched my butt?

DIY Friday: Pimp My Press [printeresting] (with several more animations)

Thanks Jason, now let's start our own newspaper!

I don't know how else to type out the sound that makes in my head... xXXxzzzZZP!

the sound it makes in my head goes like this:

PSH! I did this to a mimeograph years ago! (not really, this is weak sauce)

They should try to TRON-ify (stupid term) this.

But it really does look fake and photoshopped this time...

@7 hahaha

Do you think tronificate is more suitable? How about tronsform?

Totally 'shopped. See the dim part on the bottom left where the shadow is when the light's on? That should definitely not be dimmed in the dark. Not to mention that nothing I know of glows green like that. Aaand not to mention the total lack of light diffusion in the dark shot... Yeah.

Tronsform is a little better. How about, glow in the dark? Or fluorescent? These terms better discribe the very not like Tron printing press.

It's also important to know about the other machine behind the printing press, someone's likely to walk into it when the lights are off for a good ol game of tron in a print shop

this isnt a transformer.

@13

Very observant of you. Would you like a cookie?

It was me, I touched your butt.

FAKE!!!!

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max put a bra on his head, and some weird wires on his computer, and created a girl for him and his friend.

has anyone seen the trailer for the new TRON movie being made?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1IpPpB3iWI&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fblog%2Eiso50%2Ecom%2F&feature=player_embedded

cause it's awesome.

@17 I've seen the recent trailer as well as the orig last year. Looks like they changed the logo because I remember the other one being T2ON or something like that

this reminds me of when i had a paper route, except by the time you asked who was touching your butt, you knew who it was. "damnit joe, i know it's you, your's has that bend" or "george get off me, i can feel your warts"
and of course chapstick charlie...

Well at least the trailer for "Tron: Legacy" looks better than this.

So wait. He took a picture, taped the entire printing press, and took another picture in the exact same angle? He had a tripod there the entire time? What about the other pictures in different angles? How are those possible?

Questions

My mom worked on Tron when she lived in LA which may or may not be the pinnicle of my family tree.
