Jul 14 2009Oldschool: Movies As Retro Book Covers

In the same vein as the video games as old book covers comes this series of movies as old book covers by Flickr user spacesick. And let me tell you, it took everything I had not to put the Jurassic Park one on the front page. But, since it was a book already, I didn't include it. Of course, some of the others were probably books before movies as well and I'm such a stupid idiot that I included them and left out Jurassic Park. Forgive me, raptors, how can I ever make it up to you?! Maybe a little....no? Damnit, that plan sounded foolproof in my mind.
Hit the jump for some of my favorites, then the link for the whole massive Flickr gallery.

I like how all the book covers are worn. It really helps sell the concept.
"This is good stuff. I got it from a Negro. You're probably high already and you don't even know it."
9. DeeplyTroubled - July 14, 2009 6:32 PM
@ 4 No says "kickin" anymore.
Today the kids would say "bitchin!" As in: "These movie book covers are Bitchin! (some wicked air guitar licks may be added for emphasis)"
The Closes Encounters cover is exceptionally bitchin.

I'm going to give you a little advice. There's a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.
12. Birr Crinton - July 14, 2009 7:54 PM

No one says "bitching" anymore, lol! Nowadays the kids say "ditching"! As in its time to ditch DeeplyTroubled, because he is lame.

FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. YOu can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max was driving, and Baja called him on the cell. She saw a report on the news that said some nut was driving the wrong way on the highway. Max said - theres not just one guy driving the wrong way, they all are.

This being old doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that this was on IWatchStuff several months ago. Out of all three of these sites, you're the one who has absolutely no social life. Surely you should be able to catch these things when they pop up over there.
40. bluehost host - October 25, 2009 9:27 PM
Pretty cool even if there not real.
