Michael Jackson, donning his last piece of flair (possibly a Bedazzled glove), will be buried in a 14-karat gold coffin only befitting of a king (of pop. Alternatively, Neverland).
The $25,000 container from Batesville Casket Company ("because every family deserves a Batesville") is made of solid bronze, plated with 14-karat gold, and polished to a mirror finish. It's the same model in which James Brown was buried. No question about it, it'll be the fanciest coffin in the graveyard.
You know, when I go I want to be buried in my rocketship. And by buried I mean launched into the sun. And by "when I go" I mean I'm pushing the button now. I'M OUT BITCHES, PEACE!

@7 I heard Billy Mays was to be creamated. His ashes were to be kept fresh in a bucket of OxyClean. The bucket sealed shut with Mighty Putty and hung on a wall for display with Hercules Hooks.

Gold? If he's the greatest ever, it should be solid platinum with diamond handles. Instead of burying it underground, he should be buried under a few tons of his CD's. Well, maybe not his CD's since they're hard to find these days. I heard his dad was starting his own record label. They could use those millions of unsold pieces of trash.

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in hte movie Never Back Down where Max had an operation and died for several minutes. When he recovered he found he could see dead people and they were really annoying to him.

Musical prodigy or not, being buried in a gold plated casket is ridiculous. I'd respect him more if they just shoved his limp body in a wooden box and every person that paid to be at the memorial were allowed to shovel up one scoop of dirt to throw on his coffin.
That's how I would have done it.

What exactly is the point of such a coffin if it gets buried? Why not work on getting a Mausoleum approved on private land ? (as California law says it's illegal NOT to be buried in a cemetery)
I'm surprised no one has suggested embalming and preserving him Egyptian pharoah style and having him on permanent display for the faithful in a climate-controlled crystal-glass case.

Are you serious? $25,000 on a casket. You know how many poverty stricken homeless could of had food? Wealthy individuals just don't know what to do with their money even when they die! That's just ridiculous. Didn't humanity learn anything from history. Egyptians ring a bell *ding.* They buried themselves with all the gold and jewelry they possessed but it didn't cross over with them. Why is humanity so consumed with greed that they would rather die and keep it than give it to next man who needs it, because their still living and guess what we still needed to pay to survive on a planet they were born... Water still cost money and the food isn't cheap.

This man made no choice to be buried like a king. That was his family's decision. Michael would never have gone for something like that.
He was a modest man at heart, and would not have wanted a golden casket. His mom is too old to make good decisions and what happened after his death happened. When someone you love dies, it never goes as planned, or how you hope it will be. Dignity is lost, and right now all the world who loved to perpetuate the falsities about Michael should be aware, their dignity is lost as well. I am a fan, I loved his music, gentle nature, kind heartedness, mind, and personality. What good will you have to present when you pass away, critics? What can you possibly have to match even a single percent against the good and selfless acts of love and kindness performed by Michael Jackson? What have you to offer to the world to say "I tried to help you"?? Nothing. Which is exactly what you should be saying right now..
