This is a video of the winners from the American Library Association's Book Cart Drill Team World Championship. I'm not even kidding. I AM ADULTING.
The secret lives of librarians took center stage at the American Library Association's annual conference earlier this month. There was dancing, there were costumes, there was music, and, of course, there were book carts.
Teams bring acrobatic splits, book cart headlights, and dry ice effects to the floor in the quest to win first place and the coveted gold book cart trophy that comes with it. "It changes the whole image of librarians," added Ison.
Needless to say, this is some of the sexiest footage I've seen IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. And I used to judge the Geriatric Olympics, so I know my stuff.

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never BAck Down where Max got up early and milked the cow. He drank from the bucket, and gave the bucet to the farmer, who said - we don't have cows here, just a bull. Max said I need to go brush my teeth.

It's not so much the nerdiness or photoshopiness of it that bothers me. Its the fact that the execution is so piss poor. If you're going to really put yourself out there and be all the geek you can be, you should at least be proficient at it. These people look like they made this routine up an hour before in the performance in a Burger King parking lot. Nothing like the Battle of Hoth reenactments I host in my backyard.
PS - Adulting is good. Its like the fishsticks joke in that I can't believe no one has come up with until now. Well played as always GW.

Of all the things that happened you left out the story of the blog group of librarians at the conference that were hooking up with random people. They would post some quick comments about where the "parties" were at then go to various rooms and do the nasty. I would take that over a book cart competition anytime.
