Jul 3 2009Cuuuuuuute!: Felt Playstation iPhone Case

This is a felt Playstation iPhone case made by Etsy user rabbitrampage. As you can see (provided you're not rocking dualie eyepatches) it was very well constructed. And whenever she actually has one in stock, it'll run you $20 -- plus another $7 per controller. Still, damn cute. I'd even consider buying one if I didn't just get a new purse.
Hit the jump for a shot of an iPhone exiting the case. Or is it entering? We may never know.

I would imagine the creater would chose the PlayStation over newer models for two obvious reason. Primarily, the juxtaposition creating by harboring something considered state of the art in something considered primitive and outdated is a fairly clever and entertaining notion. Secondly, there's the retro an old-school flair, it's considered "cool" in several circles to maintain an adamant grip on childhood toys and accessories.
Also, PlayStation f#$*ing rocks.

This is a complete photoshop job. you can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Lion King where mufasa tries to show zimba a lesson but he just listen what he want to hear. In the end, Mufasa, dead in the sky, keep trying to speak with zimba and the he realise he have to fight his uncle.

Really? Then why a playstation? Why not a nintendo or sega master system? If being "retro" was the only driving sales force behind it, then who would want "retro" from a few years ago? I think it is more likely that these items are for the huge geek girl and homosexual population. It's hard (no pun intended) to go to any convention without tripping over them.

Let me make myself clear, the only individuals earnestly interested in being retro fall into the 12-20 aged demographic. For these people, memories of the PSone would obviously hold a larger sentimental value than an older system. Even so, who the hell REALLY gives a damn?
Felt makes just about ANYthing cute. I'm sure people bought this with little if any prior experience with the playstation. Whomever created this item did so for a multitude of reasons, one of which is probably to make atleast a small amount of money. I don't know if it's fair to say that the consumers behind this would be "huge geek girls and homosexual population" since sony did sell a hell of a lot of their systems, but I would agree that atleast a large percentage of them are geeks. As am I. And proudly at that.

I'm gonna guess from your comments you actually meant to respond to mine. Sooo, let me respond to yours. "The only individuals earnestly interested in being retro fall into the 12-20 aged demographic", well that seems like a very educated response, unfortunately that holds no merit what-so-ever. "Retro" is a term for many styles that have been recycled since the industrial age. To say "retro fall into the 12-20 aged demographic" is just plain ignorant. If you were to say it was a hot demographic right now, then I would probably agree. As far as your response to my comment about "huge geek girls and homosexual population" I would guess you are new to the whole "sarcasm on the interwebz" deal. If you read the whole comment I said there was a huge population of girls and homosexuals at conventions, which if you have ever been to one, is not really accurate. Oh to be sure, they are there, as any self-respecting geek, no matter the gender or sexual preference would be. So to sum up the gist of my argument. YOU FAIL EPICLY! Good day to you sir!

this case is BADLY made.
not worth the money, my friend got one and it was bad quality and ugly stitches, nothing compared to the one in the photo (don't think that was his/her original photo, must been stolen of somewhere), i was gonna get one but luckily i didn't.
