Jun 14 2009Ooooh, He's Light Up: Gundam At Night

Thought the Japanese Gundam statue looked good during the day? Well check it out at night! The statue is chock-full of blinky blinks and other lighting effects to help assure the citizens of Japan they're safe from attack. Unless it's an inside job. *ahem* I'm looking at you, RX-78.
Hit the jump for a bunch more and a link to the HQ versions in case you want to print em out and make love to them. Sicko.

Thanks to shogunu, who wants to see it hump the Statue of Liberty.

Looks awesome with the people crowded around it (just like a cartoon about giant robots in Japan coincidentally), but I can't get over how tacky it is as a statue, and I just keep imagining it in a couple of years covered in rust.
Can you climb inside of it like the Statue of Liberty?

FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max was trying to be discrete, and ended up blowing up an apartment that was filled with tooth faries. Later he punched smokey guy in the face, and wrecked his spacesuit.

20. FDSY - June 15, 2009 2:09 AM
Listen.
We ooh and awe now. But when the robopocalypse comes these will be tearing into our apartments and squeezing you to death.
AND don't give that "FDSY, it's a mech. It's a machine piloted by a HUMAN."
SO!!??
You don't think the mechanical overlords will build a machine to pilot them? I do. And when they do there will be little to stop them.
