I'll stick with my 3G, the "upgrades" aren't enough for me to be part of the cool kids club and have the "latest and greatest". I like Apple, but not that much.

I see Apple omitted the turn by turn "much anticipated" feature for the imbedded GPS.

I thought iphone couldn't cut and paste, why are they listing it as a feature for 3G?

You bought the 3g 2 days ago? ummm...return it? you have a 30 day return policy there may but alittle restocking fee but besides that you'll become re-eligible for the new phone.

Hey, I just got my iphone like 2 months ago. Anyone of you know if you can possibly trade in your 3g to upgrade for the 3gs?

@ 5 - No, now its $100 for 8gig version

@ 11 - Apple was conceded and thought that since every iphone user could email photo's and since at the original conception, most phones on the market couldn't properly display a 3meg photo anyways, that MMS wasn't needed. this is read "it's not the iphone to blame, but every other phone" :)

@ 24 - apple doesn't make better things, it makes easier, more intuative things

@ 25 - the 3.0 software update to be released before the 3GS launch. Also, voice control is great for in car use and living in the mid west, you'd be surprised how many hunters with their otterboxes get iphones

@ 26 - It can but it requires certain headsets with certain adapters... MMS is coming in the update for free for iphone users... Also, i'm fine with no expandable memory because thats less money I have to spend on a curve when I fill its memory with naked photos of your mother and start losing the naked photos I took of your father when I first got the damn thing

@ 29 - 3rd generation network technology + more processor speed than the previous iPhone

@ 34 - go to the store you bought it from. if it was purchased in the last 35 days before the price dropped monday, you should have it credited back to your account. No need to trade it in if you just want 8gigs

@ 47 - the price change is huge, you actully get more for less in terms of storage than previously, but I agree that its not enough to get a new one

@ 55 - No word Yet but with the original 3g release, they allowed 2g Iphone users to upgrade earlier for the full 2 year price decrease. Beats paying $500 for the 32 if you're still in contract.

A standard needs to be created so all phones from all brands on all networks (including computers with webcams) can video call with each other. (If hardly anyone can talk with each other, like if you could only talk to other iPhone owners, it won't ever catch on)

Cell networks need to be dramatically improved to allow for anything close to wide-spread usable quality. (people need to just know that video calling will work no matter where they are before they start regularly using it. If it seems spotty, they'll just forget about it)

Until then it will be an extremely buggy, gimmicky feature that you might use to show off but when it came down to it, would sit idle. They're BARELY getting MMS standardized between different carriers (even just a few years ago it was big news that Verizon and Sprint could send pictures to each other) and phones and imagine how simple that is compared to live streaming video.

@ 59 - Yea, the wireless industry only makes big strides in cross compatibility when mergers or buyouts happen. While true cross compatibility between carriers would only take at most few years of RnD and a lot of man hours, it's not going to be a profitable action for most companies. Not only would the complications come from the differences in GSM (AT&T/ T-Mobile), TDMA (Sprint), and CDMA (verizon/ U.S. Cellular) be massive, but the wireless industry is a very niche market where a percieved difference is just as important as a difference of effect.

The way to think of it is why would people be drawn to a cellular company that can do every thing with everyone else. Most people would stay exactly where they are at and reap the benefits of another service providers investments which is always a terrible idea in any form of business.

Still no removable battery or memory card, no multitasking, and no way to access storage without using the crappy itunes interface. No thanks.
