May 12 2009So, Yeah: The DJ Hero Turntable Peripheral

So this is the first look at the DJ Hero turntable peripheral. As you can see, they make it look like a turntable, but with buttons (and sadly no knobs). Three of them. Let's see, there's a, um, purple one, a yellow one and a....and a....*sniffle* I never learned my colors! But I did learn my tastes. OM NOM NOM. Ass. This sandwich tastes like ass.
Hit the jump for one more shot.

Thanks to trishna87 and fingerling, once DJ'ed my birthday party and, let me tell you, those beats were fresh.

PSS- Someone plan a GeekologieCon. Think of the wicked awesome possibilities people. Me, Naas, GFS, Pew3 in the same room? No one would come out alive.

13 - I would totally survive. I would do so by incessantly quoting NBD and using the F-word so much the interwebs would implode.

Kill 'em All!
So.....How is this different from the real thing?
17. LSDiesel - May 12, 2009 1:21 PM
The 'Hero' games are really starting to grind my gears. Why can't we have cool games like 'Genocide Hero' and 'Bondage Hero' or even....
Damn. I'm not funny AGAIN. I hate tuesdays.

Sorry Thumper and Diesel, you guys can come too. Sorry I left you out. :(
20. Pew³ - May 12, 2009 1:31 PM
@13. If you come to San Diego for ComicCon, I would make it an effort to meet some regulars.
some of you though,
some of you are crazy and might scare me in public if MooseKnuckle didn't have my back.
21. truk - May 12, 2009 1:35 PM
Good, this is a nice kick in the ass for all the "DJ's" out there.. they scrum everybody else's hard work and claim it for their own. Now they get their whole dealy replicated by 3 buttons on a plastic pancake. At least the gay guitar game has more buttons (I think).
22. naas - May 12, 2009 1:36 PM
hahaha Olllie, so true. Can you imagine the food being served on the snacks table at a geekologiecon? The cakes, the dragons, the bacon.....
With that thought, I vote for some bacon obnoxiousness competition where anyone who doesn't win has to wear a sign that reads FIRST or has to down a cheese roll
Vote geekocon 2009
23. LSDiesel - May 12, 2009 1:39 PM
@13 and 20,
I would make an effort to come out and meet some of the regulars as well. It would be like a giant family reunion. Although something tells me only a few people would show because I get the feeling most of us are a lot tougher when we're sitting comfortably at our computers with no real danger except for reading some noob post the word 'geekologie' a trillion times in honest expectations that someone is going to laugh or think he's clever.
I'll still come though. Only if we get Princess Zelda blow-up dolls though.

You may never know if you're a talent or not if you haven't tried yet.I don't know who said this but it sounds pretty cool to me.
26. naas - May 12, 2009 1:57 PM
I don't think I'm very tough behind my computer, nor away from it when outside or around others. Online tough talk is just laughable. I just like being a smartass & stupid most of the time, as well as annoying those who sometimes annoy me.
I'd still go to a geekocon though & probably be nice to everyone - even softlicous as difficult as that would be
27. naas - May 12, 2009 1:59 PM
er geekologiecon, whatever it may or should be called
28. Gordon "Fücking" Shumway - May 12, 2009 2:05 PM
I'll call it, "Splatterfest 2009." It would be a blood and seman affair that would rival even Metallica's decerning tastes. Zelda blow me dolls would be a bonus.
29. Gordon "Fücking" Shumway - May 12, 2009 2:06 PM
*discerning
30. naas - May 12, 2009 2:13 PM
@22 somehow just suggesting that is going to yield a lot of people wearing signs displaying F1RST anyways, what a bad idea.
I'd also have to come as 2 people because I use 2 names here, though that whore hasn't been around lately
31. 24-bit whore - May 12, 2009 2:17 PM
@naas STFU
32. Gordon "Fücking" Shumway - May 12, 2009 2:18 PM
24 bits of naas, whoreing just enough for the city.
33. Andrew - May 12, 2009 2:21 PM
Geekologie Writer have no fear! GameInformer Magazine had a whole spread on this crazy ass game, and, believe it or not, they had pictures of knobs and dials that were attached to this wheel. I don't know where you got these pictures, but there's totally more to it.

If I were in Cali during the con, I'd totally schlep my chubby ass down there and be unfunny in person. I don't think I'm more of a badass behind my computer, but I do think I'm funnier...
37. $.02 and a pocket full of FAH-Q - May 12, 2009 2:37 PM
Although I would love to run into the mybrute fags and fight them in person...

I'm working at securing some sort of website. I shit you not. Maybe when this ball gets rolling GW will make an article about it.
39. Ollie Williams - May 12, 2009 2:59 PM
I've got the contact process started with myself and the GW, since we don't have any sort of forum or anything off topic to discuss anything related to this, we'll have to use the comments section for now until I can secure media right permissions and such. Stay tuned.
40. naas - May 12, 2009 3:13 PM
I love when Ollie gets proactive, things happen
41. Mistress Ishbo - May 12, 2009 3:24 PM
SO much for IIDX. I don't know if I can get used to the new peripheral. I am too used to the japanese games. I plan on getting it anyways XD
42. LonnieBubonic - May 12, 2009 4:34 PM
@21 Listen buddy, DJ's use other people's music, thats our job, it's what we get hired to do. other wise you'd be at your sister's wedding with somebody's ipod playing music on a stereo you got out of uncle steve's basement. And how fun would the club be with MUZAK playing Mike Bolton's greatest hits?
burn in pasta

Daisy must have swine flu. No Daisy (yet) today?
45. Daisy - May 12, 2009 5:56 PM
FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never BAck Down where Max was breakdancing at school, and hit his head, resulting in a 20 year coma. When he woke up he had to win the dance crew competition to save his parent's house.
46. Truk - May 12, 2009 5:58 PM
@42- I agree, I mean "people" like that dude that dates LLohan and hip-hop DJs that just "sample" other people's work and then talk over it... Sorry I didn't clarify, life would be empty without wedding DJs.
47. barroom hero - May 12, 2009 6:52 PM
FAIL!
I don't know where to begin on this "game of skill." I used to spin in my younger years and it is not really that hard to do in real life (beat-matching/ mixing). I was never a fan of guitar hero either...but at least you can pretend to play guitar because it is hard and many can't do it.
48. Watch-303 - May 12, 2009 7:19 PM
I hate this! no skill is required.
49. Dan Brown - May 12, 2009 9:18 PM
Isn't this just a rehash of beatmania: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatmania
only with a worse looking controller?
50. Mimi - May 12, 2009 9:20 PM
Aw, *hug* i'll teach you your colors, sad little geekology writer~
51. naas - May 12, 2009 10:06 PM
Apparently he's not that little, just sayin
52. Matt - May 13, 2009 12:23 AM
it's been done:
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/51/138072424_57375bf625_o.jpg
and that game is awesome, well, all Jap releases.
For anyone who cares to tell me that "someone already posted something like this" can take a hike, I don't have time to read all your posts!
53. jay - May 13, 2009 7:15 AM
i really dont know how to perceive this, i mean if its real thats awesome...but if its fake someone's gonna PAY!!
54. Jaded Icon - May 13, 2009 7:22 AM
Guitar hero fans remind me so much of Taebo fans. Both claim that if it came down to the "real" thing they would school everyone else. That being said I do have a 3rd degree Taebo black belt, Billy Blanks himself gave it to me........its made of dinosaur hide and unrealized dreams.
If a Geekologie Con did happen, I really hope it would be in the midwest. Because we rule and everywhere else drools.
