May 10 2009PEW PEW: Death Star Versus The Enterprise
Guess who wins. Here, I'll even give you a hint: not Endor. Ha, what do you mean it says 'Death Star Destroys Enterprise' right on the video? Well, you can't go around believing everything you hear. Did I say hear? I meant read. IT'S A TRAP!
Thanks to Evan, Antoekneeoh, Chris, who once barbecued an Ewok. It smelled like burnt fur. And to JC, who still ate some.

Star Trek is straight gay. And seriously weak.
14. bribios - May 10, 2009 3:11 PM
Of course though the Enterprise would win if it had a few expendable Bothan spies. That's the only thing missing for victory.
15. Daisy - May 10, 2009 3:12 PM
FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max took his mommy to the Star Trek movie for mother's day.

surprisingly animation was pretty good, this video was probably some college animation project...

Now all we need is a star trek vs Star wars vid where the enterprise attacks the death star and tie fighters.
23. sin - May 10, 2009 7:20 PM
I want to see a full lenght movie of the Enterprise vs. A Star Destroyer. No Death Star, Jedi Or Darth Vader. No time travel or any of the stupid shit from the Enterprise.

I like the special effects, but I think that star wars fan is secretly jealous of the better sci-fi genre. :-)

lame 3rd grade effects. lame.
30. Mark Farson - May 11, 2009 9:00 AM
Hahaha! That was brilliant. It did look like a college level VFX demo, but it was decently executed.

Booyah! Ding dong bitches!
32. Trevor - May 11, 2009 10:10 AM
Not bad. The final explosion needs to be a bit grander in scale, but all in all, pretty well done.

34. Deej - May 11, 2009 11:34 AM
Yeah no kidding.. it was an amazing attempt at some good old shooting of something as big as a barn that wasn't moving.
Let's see the next Video where the Enterprise is actually flying, pulling off maneuvers. The damn thing shoots photon torpedoes.. and as we all know proton torpedoes blew it up in the first place.
Let's try a real fight next time.
"Wooo! That was great, I love BBQing an enemy that doesn't even remotely defend itself.. talk about a sense of satisfaction"
35. che-che - May 11, 2009 12:21 PM

36. daktor - May 11, 2009 1:14 PM
It's a fake, I'm pretty sure about it.
37. Deej is lame - May 11, 2009 2:54 PM
deej is a nerd. get some vag you loser. hint: there is no vag to be found at a star trek convention. if you do find it there, it will EAT YOU
38. AlphaSpark - May 11, 2009 6:07 PM
That's all fine and dandy, unless you actually go by star trek and star wars canon. Canon states that Star Wars weaponry are laser based. Star Trek canon has shown laser weapons to be obsolete and useless against star ship shielding. I just thought I would be the geek of the thread and point out the logic flaw in this video. Not to mention the enterprise could out maneuver the death star. Oh, and no out-of-place unexplained tube leading to a super vulnerability that, if a single weapon is shot down it, will cause the ship to explode... Starfeelt tends not to make such oversights in spacecraft design...
39. _me - May 13, 2009 12:17 PM
From a purely SFX standpoint I feel that Daisy could have done better.
40. Lord of the horse beaters - May 14, 2009 10:15 PM
Star wars weapons are most likely PLASMA based. That's why the tibanna ammo must be RELOADED when a laser doesnt run out unless ELECTRICITY flow stops. Most people mistakenly think "it has laser in it's name so it must be one". Lasers are not visible until they hit something, they travel at the speed of light, and they burn things and do NOT make non-flamable/explosive things explode as seen in ANH with Han's blaster and yes this means that trek phasers are not lasers either. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, and waddles like a duck it cannot be an hawk or a dog. There is NO SUCH THING as a laser with an explosive yeild. Laser power is measured in watts while a blaster's power can be measured in TNT equivalent (megaton for example) and watts.
Official publication figures (from Star Wars Episode II Incredible Cross-Sections (SW2ICS) and the Star Trek Next Generation Technical Manual (TNG TM) This text is (mostly) from star destroyer.net/Empire/Essays/FiveMinutes.html
Heres a Star Wars craft.
Acclamator troop transport
Light guns: 300 million GW (6 megatons per shot, 24 guns, assume 1 shot every 2 seconds for time-averaged power output rather than peak output)
Heavy guns: 2.4 million megatons (200 gigatons per shot from each turret, 12 turrets)
Shield heat dissipation: 70 trillion GW peak
Now for Star Trek
Enterprise-D
Main phasers: 3.6 GW (5.1 MW per emitter, 200 emitters in the main phaser array, 2 full-sized saucer arrays and 3 smaller roughly half-size arrays on the stardrive section, p.123). Note that phasers appear to have a chain-reaction effect so their raw power output may be deceptively low.
Photon torpedoes: 64 megatons max theoretical (based on 1.5 kg antimatter payload, p.129)
Shield heat dissipation: 3311 GW peak (473 GW per generator x 7 generators, p.138)
Yes the star wars stats are correct, I have the very book they came from. Read it and weep, star wars's pew pew beats star trek's pew pew. If put in a realistic hostile meeting situation between the two ships with none of that typical enterprise cheating (time travel, technobabble, ect.) and only the stats that both show clearly trek would be wasted rapidly. Check the webpage for more.
