May 8 2009Computer Repairman Breaks Into Office, Steals Hard Drive, Charges To Fix It

broken computer.jpg

Kevin Andrew Lutes (28, of 2121 Cypress Road, Bethlehem, PA) is probably the best computer repairman ever. EVER.

Lutes, who had fixed computers for Action Realty in the past, was called the day after the break-in to repair the broken computer's hard drive. He told the owner he could retrieve her lost data and files.

Meanwhile, the owner of the company called the computer manufacturer, who told her it was impossible to retrieve the data without the hard drive. Police then discovered Lutes' car, with a computer repair sticker on the door, was seen parked in front of the office on the night of the break-in.

On Friday, Lutes brought the computer back with all the lost data and tried to charge the company $50 an hour for 40 hours of work.

Wow, $2,000 to return the computer you stole, that's just good business if you ask me. Get the Better Business Bureau on the phone, I think somebody in Bethlehem deserves a medal. It's baby Jesus!

Genius. And shitty. But also, funny as hell.

thats just some stupidity with a side of brass balls

i mean who would think they wouldnt eventually find out and nail this ass for fraud sooner or later anyway

That has the superficial writer mark all around

I did tech support for a few years with people who did shit like this, they made for a great working environment.

I agree it does look a lot like a superficial writer shenanigan

I can recover your data before you even create it.

HA HA AH HA HA!

!

Wow my home town made it into geekologie. Not quite the exposure i was looking for though

What an idiot. Funny thing is that they posted the address of this dumb asz. Which is: 2121 Cypress Rd, Bethlehem, PA

Classic. Love to see stupid people working with technology.

The satellite view of the address in Google Maps looks like his street is covered in grass. Or painted green.

FAKE!!!!

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie NEver BAck Down where Max was riding his moped and flying a jolly Rogers flag as he thought he was a pirate. He had an eyepatch on and had a hot dog on his shoulder which he thought was a parrot. His current purpose was to find BAja's dad and get his leg cut off so he could put on a pegleg and increase his pirate sea cred. He checked the Del Tacos, and found they had a special on bacon cheese rolls, and Max thought these were spyglasses. He got a couple and tried to see through them, but all he could see is delicious.

I love when computer/tech people try to pull the wool over my eyes...

I was once in a best buy and asked the guy why this one dlp tv looked brighter than a LCD tv (usually the other way around), he told me it was because the dlp uses 'digital light', is he perhaps reffering to the particle wave duality of light and this set somehow filters out the 'analog' wave part? haha, i just looked at him, started laughing and walked away...

I used to do something similar when I was a kid trying to earn exxtra money for weed and liquor and gas and hookers. see I'd go around breaking windows and then knock on the peoples' door and offer to fix it for them. But since I didn't own a glass or window company the whole olan would unravell rather quickly, so then I'd offer to shovell their driveway , but it was summer so most everyone would say NO . Except for this one old guy on the corner would always let me shovel his driveway , but I had to wear a thong and he'd watch me from the front porch ...with binoculars and keep telling me I missed a spot and to bend with my waist.

We probably even don't want to know how many times people are getting conned in all day life.Simply because of the lack of knowledge.

Wow epic fail

I don't condone criminal activity but if you are going to engage in it, at least make it worth your while. IE if you are going to do something which is going to cost you 10 years of your life, commit a crime which will net you 10 years worth of good money at 50,000-100000 a year MINIMUM.

It's effin stupid to commit armed robbery on a 7-11, risking 10+ years for what, 80 bucks? Same applies even if he was gonna get $2000 bucks, its not gonna match what he'll have to pay with time in prison...

Epic
Stupidity

this guy was stupid

Absolutely hilarious! Surprising that you don't see this more often in this economy. Fix Computer Errors
