Apr 22 2009What The?: Questionable Sub Commercial
I love Quiznos. Or, I should say, I loved Quiznos before I found out their ovens encourage employees to have sex with them. I mean, WTF? This isn't how you sell delicious, oven-baked subs, this is how you....damnit, now I want Quiznos.
Thanks to Jordan and Reiko, who have never gone anywhere near a toaster with their junk exposed. Or so they say.

I'm not sure which one this is because I'm blocked but I have seen the commercials at home.
I hate them.
Maybe if it were a girl oven or a girl worker... or they were both girls... or there were two girl workers and a girl oven and some bikinis... I'm sorry, what were we talking about?
7. Cameron - April 22, 2009 11:51 AM
I know, right? I saw this commercial a few weeks ago and it made me decide to NEVER go back to Quiznoes again. I don't want to eat a sandwich that is the product of gay Man-Machine sex.

even the toned down version of this commercial still has homo erotic undertones. Im surprised this aired at all. A lot of advertisers are using shock tactics like this to get attention.
9. yan - April 22, 2009 12:03 PM
"meats" my seal of approval
10. wtf - April 22, 2009 12:05 PM
Shock tactics? Man some people just cant appreciate humor... feel sorry for you guys.
BTW, the commercials are awesome...

Sorry, I don't want a sandwich with charred man meat stuck to the bottom of it

There's a subliminal message in this ad to boot. Towards the beginning when the camera shows the inside of the oven there is are two or three frames showing a periscope peering out that quickly disappears.

About a month and a half late Mr. Geekologie writer.
15. Ken - April 22, 2009 12:47 PM
Do they really want to have ads about guys having sex with the oven as dominoes is having an image problem with employees doing gross stuff with their sandwiches?
16. crazycaptain - April 22, 2009 1:00 PM
Why is there a periscope in the oven for a single frame?

New commercial trend - commercials that make you never want to go to that place.
Has anyone seen these new Good Will commercials? I don't know if they have them in Texas only, but I can't find anything online. This creepy goodwill lady stalks people in fancy restaurants and at the dry cleaners and says "Nice dress..... CAN WE HAVE THEM?" It's horrifying.

I've got a toasted torpedo for you right here. And it's dripping with what looks like melted cheese and smells like onions. And it's got pieces of crust that fall off onto your chest when you grab it too tightly.
19. bob - April 22, 2009 1:31 PM
awesome, an advertisement cleverly disguised as a blog post. this is just like the 'what is the new black' shit you people pulled on the superficial.
i understand trying to make money, but could we be a tad less disingenuous about it?
20. Subway loyalist - April 22, 2009 2:36 PM
Good luck finding a Quiznos that will actually sell the torpedo for $4. Anytime I get coupons or promos for Quiznos, I can't find a single store that actually accepts them.
#15 (Ken) -- Agreed.

WTF?? They can have this ad and an ad with Paris Hiltion drooling over a burger while dry humping a car, but the PETA ad for veggies is banned?
SUCKS.
22. What? - April 22, 2009 3:12 PM
WTF I just noticed :04 too... wow....... *kills self*
23. CaptainMorgan - April 22, 2009 3:20 PM
The first time I saw this, I thought it would be funny if the oven said "...and I'll return the favour..." at the end.
24. TetterkeT - April 22, 2009 3:43 PM
Women confuse my penis for a torpedo sub all the time.
25. Jamie - April 22, 2009 4:50 PM
Re: the periscope - Probably referring to the fact that it's a Sub(marine) sandwich that's called "Toasty Torpedo".
Re: the homoeroticism - besides the humor (at least to some, if your not creeped out), maybe they're referencing the Village People's "In the Navy" with the nautical relationship of a sub sandwich and torpedo?
26. Lordthez - April 22, 2009 5:25 PM
Yeah, there's one over here that does almost the exact same thing, but at the end as he's putting it in, it goes, "Yes scott, put it in me"

30. Clifurd - April 22, 2009 7:26 PM
