Apr 3 2009Reader Makes Tribble Cage From Old Monitor

tribble 1.JPG

Geekologie Reader Jen went and made a Tribble cage out of an old CRT monitor. For those of you who don't know, Tribbles are those adorable furry bastards from the Star Trek series. And as you can see, Jen did a great job making a wonderful little home for one. Good looking. Just don't get him wet -- we don't want any Gremlins on our hands! Haha, do I know my stuff or what?

Hit the jump for six more close-ups of the custom cage.

Third!!

that kinda neat... however a gnawing animal should probly not be trusted in a plastic bottom casing

the trouble with tribbles (pun intended) is that they are born pregnant... they dont gnaw... they just breed uncontrollibly raping a planet of its resources unless they are eco controlled by predators...

oddly enough if he got a pet ghila monster... actually he will need a few...lest that monitor get cramped (that pun also intended)

@4

tribble rape? ...hmmmmm

@4 my bad, i thought it wasa guineapig at first glance that was just being reffered to as a tribble...i didnt realise it was actualyl a tribble...

...on a related note, i got one for my birthday like 2 or so decades ago, and i stil lhave it.

Why is there still a power cord running to the monitor? Tribble shock therapy?

Also, does it say somewhere in the tribble handbook that you have to make its cage horribly ugly?

I'm beginning to think this is more a tribble death box of torture.

That's no tribble! It's a balled up wad of pubic hair!

Uh.

Cool?

@8 yeah my tribble was like 6 times that size, and officially licenced

Just make sure not to get these guys wet or they may turn into gremlins.

I was under the impression this site was for gadgets and gizmos and awesome. Not home-made useless crap.

Oh well. On a lighter note, HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

Happy Friday All!!

It's an innovative way to use old technological equipment, at least it's not in a landfill... yet! Good Job!

I think making cornfield bombs out of old monitors is more pratical, but I don't have any tribbles so that's probably why

hey, if that's a tribble than I pulled a big tribble out of my bathtub drain this morning. My wife sheds like animal!

EWWWWWWWWW!!!!

FAKE!!!!

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like that scene int he movie Never BAck Down where Max was in a neutral spaceport and some kilngons were there too. One of the klingons told Max his ship should be hauling trash, and when Max threateningly asked to hear that again the klingon apologized and said I'm sorry, your ship should be hauled away AS trash. This started a huge brawl in the bar, which the other officers broke up. Later Max got revenge by beaming all the tribbles off his ship onto the Klingon vessel.

isn't there toxic stuff in computers?.....

1) Too small for an animal.
2) Too dark for an animal.
3) Paint fumes from that ugly paint job not healthy for an animal.

@19

No shit? Really? I guess that's why they puke a fictional animal inside, huh? Wow, your intelligence (or is it the lack of) astounds me.

*put*

God damn it I hate it when I misspell words while trying to flame someone. Lee, I take it back. You're not an idiot. *crosses fingers behind back*

wtf. those things are just pom poms.

lamage caggery fail con queso!

I don't get it, some chick shaves off her bush and puts it in a monitor?

@26 - if that's what tribbles are, I'm going out and getting me a bathtub full!
