Apr 16 2009I'll Have Another: The Triforce....OF BOOZE!

triforce of booze.jpg

The Triforce is a shot made of equal parts dark rum, banana liqueur, and Goldschläger. It sounds delicious (minus the combination of rum, banana and cinnamon), and I'm going to drink them until I start seeing fairies. You know, like Julia Roberts in Hook. But way nakeder. YOW YOW, TINK!

So all you Zelda fans know the Tri-force has three parts. Link (courage), Zelda (wisdom), Gannon (strength), and The Geekologie Writer (awesome). That was the inspiration for this drink. I chose a dark Rum for Link, since he represents courage, and the nick-name for rum is "liquid courage." Then there is 99 Bananas for Zelda. It's smooth and refreshing (and since she is a girl, she gets the fruity part - duh!). And lastly there is Goldschläger for Gannon, representing strength, because it is the part of this shot that really kicks your ass.

Cool, but Goldschläger doesn't really kick your ass. I mean, it's 87 proof cinnamon-flavored mouthwash. No, I suggest we ramp up the "strength" aspect of the drink. I'm thinking moonshine. And by thinking I mean manufacturing. Unless you're a cop, in which case I really did mean thinking.

Meet me by the old oak tree.

Thanks Julian, I bought a round on your tab while you were in the bathroom. And drank them all. They tasted like happiness.

Que intoxicated.

It sounds cool, but banana and cinnamon? HORF!

Muy cool!

I too invented a drink. It consist of Dr. Pepper, Whiskey and Lemon. I call it a Phil Collins. Get it? GNARF!

no no no no no

Oh that is awesome! And I don't even drink alcohol.

Sweeeeet!

Oh my god! Sigee! I missed your ass so much!
You hoe!
I wanna tap you ass so badly. Have it with me, Sigee. You hoe!

hmmm. i think the 3 elements for this triforce shot is a little bit off....
banana and cinnamon, more like gayana and gayamon.. am i right?

F Goldschlager....F it in the face!!! So many bad times with that crap....replace it with Rumple Minze. Tastes better and is stronger.

Bananas and cinnamon go well together. Bananas Foster, anyone?

As for bananas and rum, there are banana flavored rums out there as well. The three should make up a good flavor combo.

...or an astro pop...

...mmmm....astropop.

im gonna go hit a candy store now

I think banana is the wrong fruit to use for representing a woman. It's a fruit that arguably represents a man.

I would have chose Bicardi's Grand Melons.

Are there any liquors that taste like fish?

Yet another drink I won't be going near... Anything with Goldschläger is a horrid idea for me...

While Link might look a little effeminate, he is all man-elf thing. Anyways, how about a shot that will put some hair on your balls, not unlike what the ocarina of time did to me. It was a confusing time...One part Anejo Tequila for Courage (will give you the cajones to hit on anything that moves) , One part 18 year old Scotch for Wisdom (you spend 18 years in an old bourbon barrel and just try not to come out the other side with some real perspective), and one part small batch unfiltered Bourbon for Strength (drink some and you will start trying to arm wrestle the biggest guy in the bar convinced that you will win). Just be careful when drinking it as you might impregnate everyman, woman and donkey around you. Rad to the power of Sick

@15

you are a gawd damn genius.
7 years into the future and you still don't have any fuzz on them peaches

Only some 19 year old a$$hat would imply that Goldschläger "knocks you on your a$$". Ganon is way more powerful than that crap. Heck, 99 Bananas is stronger than fncking Goldschläger. Ganon is on par with Bacardi 151 or Everclear at least.

My suggestion is:
"Ganon" - Bacardi 151
"Zelda" - Grand Marnier
"Link" - Creme de Menthe

While I admit that Creme de Menthe is a little weak to be "Link", I think it works as far as flavor goes, and its green! "Zelda" still gets to be fruity like a chick drink but, in my opinion, mint and orange go together way better than cinnimon and banana. And of course "Ganon" is the strongest of the 3. The sweetness of "Link" also helps neutralize the potency of "Ganon". Some could say that "Link", although weaker, has courage to compete with "Ganon", hahah.

I have no idea if these 3 layer though.

#15 why would you ruin 18yr old scotch or small batch unfiltered bourbon with tequila? eeeek shame on you.

#13 exactly.

#18 Good call!

only zelda nerds would think that it is a good idea to mix goldschlager, 99 bananas, and dark rum. amateur drinkers.

FAKE!!!!

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where the bad guy was about to stick Max in a tank of pirannahs but RacerX started shooting at the truck they were in and they eventually had to toss max out to get him to stop.

That's OK , I'll stick to my own recipe:
½ shot Bacardi 151 Rum
½ shot Peppermint Schnapps
½ shot Apricot Brandy
½ shot Tanqueray Gin
served on the rocks with a splash of Ginger Ale.
Note: it looks like gasoline when mixed, and could probably power a small automobile, perhaps this is the answer to high gas prices?

You want moonshine from an unmarked bottle produced from a hidden mini-fridge under the bar of an incredibly jovial Irish landlord - like being hit by a freight train.

goldschlaeger doesn't so much kick your ass as it burns tiny, horrible holes in your throat

Awesome.

so...goldschlager, why? how about a little sailor jerry's?

I suggest a three shot lineup.

Gannon - Jack Daniels... delicious.
Zelda - Jack Daniels... chicks dig it too.
Link - Jack Daniels... be brave.

A trifecta like no other. Who needs gold flakes or banana flavor?

@17-- 151... The bane of my existence.

Awesome I'ma try this shiet! For real...just because it's a Triforce.

Way to spell Ganon's name wrong, too, creator-of-Triforce-drink.
