Mar 31 2009Wow: Minas Tirith Recreated In Matchsticks
Minas Tirith, the City of Kings from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings trilogy is painstakingly being recreated using matchsticks by wood-loving Patrick Acton. The project started in March, 2007, and Patrick expects to be completed by late 2010. Good looking, Pat, say -- mind if I do a j? *whoosh* Oh, uh-oh.

This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all worng.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max stole a crystal from supermans fortress of solitude, and threw a splinter from it into the lake in a train set, ruining the entire house.

Actually it could be a pretty sweet holiday decoration. Add some little motors and tiny people, you've got the best light up miniature village of everyone who loves miniature villages. Or in this case miniature fantastical fortresses.

Wow, that is awesome. did it take a lot of time to do it or did it change color/fade as it was being built. I hope he doesn't have any pets as my doggie avvo would love to leave his mark. My friend linde does projects like this although lindo doesn't like castles she will build sky scrapers.

Oh and it says hes used 360,000 matchsticks thus far on this model. Wow and he did Hogwarts (from Harry Potter) which was just over 600,000 matchsticks. Guy is hardcore for sure!
