Sweet mother of Metroid, will you look at that. In competition for sexiest Samus Aran ever is deviantartist and cosplayer Yukilefay (26-year-old Thaís Jussim). What do you think? How does she compare to the current reigning Samus? I have to admit, I was hoping she'd have a Zero Suit too, like Jenni did. Regardless, great freaking job.
The beast of a bounty hunter suit is lit by 73 battery powered LEDs and set Jussim back $350 in material costs.
Jussim, who created the suit with the help of friends and family, says the suit weighs about 23 pounds and is surprisingly not very comfortable. Who would have guessed. Jussim also reveals that there's, uh... Zero Suit Samus cosplay in the works, by the way. It's her next project.
Oh snap -- I hadn't even read that when I was writing the opener. Hot damn! I will have to reserve final judgment then until after I see the Zero Suit. But for right now, at least according to the bone-ometer, Jenni's still up by a head length.

Eh. The shoulders, gun, and helmet look nice, but there are way too many gaps in the armor. and some of the gaps are huge. also some of the armor porportions are wrong. http://darkdiamond.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/metroid.jpg This one is better, although the hips are still off and the gun is on the wrong hand.

The suit looks amazing, but it lacks one thing that makes it look less "real" - Wear and tear. The whole thing looks like it's brand new, out of the shipping box from Space Armor R Us. It needs the grime and burns of a serious bounty hunter who's survived a few scrapes. The construction is more impressive than the other Samus cosplayer, but her costume's aesthetic is more believable.

Guys, you can say what you like about the girls' looks, but come ON... you have got to admit this suit is like a million times better quality. Eesh.
For the record though, yeah, Jenni is hotter. This new girl has an awful manly face... but neither one of them have any boobs to speak of.

I love Yukilefay's costumes but I prefer the other Samus. Just realistic preference on costumes for me like poster number 62 says, because making cosplay means give life to fictional characters.
I don't like this pvc and plastics-shiny-as-hell fashion on cosplay actually. It looks like kids toys. Or trash bag when some cosplayers use it as clothes. That plastic cloth looks horrible to me; don't know if someone have seen it in materials for making clothes shops.
But, over than that, Yukilefay works on plastic materials amazingly well when it comes to an armor.

Yeah, I also thought that Jenni was hotter than Yuki. Then I looked at Yuki's other cosplays. And I saw that I was worng... You all who think so should also too.
And to those who think Jenni's cosplay is more realistic, I say just this: yeah, Samus probably use some soft, leather-looking, armor (irony intended).

I just spent a few minutes checkin out Jenni's suit...sure it look all battleworn etc and "realistic" i guess you could say, but up close looks cheap and crappy compared to this new one. Great job Thais (who is also WAY hotter than Jenni hands down), not even close imo..
