Feb 9 2009Invading The Real World!: Fake Parking Tickets Used To Spread Computer Viruses

Hackers operating around Grand Forks, North Dakota (not to be confused with Giant Spoons, South Dakota) have been issuing fake parking tickets in order to get their victims to download viruses from a website.
Drivers found the following message on the yellow ticket on their windscreen: "PARKING VIOLATION This vehicle is in violation of standard parking regulations".
The ticket then instructed drivers to visit a website, where drivers could "view pictures with information about your parking preferences".Anti-virus firm McAfee says the Vundo Trojan then gets users to install a fake anti-virus scanner.
Listen folks, if you don't want to fall victim to this sort of scam, you need to do what I do: not be a senior citizen.

Thanks to Bungo, who doesn't pay parking tickets because they're just a sorry attempt by the man to keep him down.

Not first, but cooler than the guy who was in every way.
And anyone who actually downloads the virus completely deserves it for plain stupidity.
The phrase "you fail" fits in very well here.

I have no issue communicating without the use of profanity. Quite frankly, the english language offers much more colorful adjectives. The point being made is simply that in this country, where this blog is hosted, we have freedom of speech. The same freedom of speech that would protect this blogger (GW) in court. I find it rather disingenuous of him to post NSFW content and genitalia jokes, then censor our comments about them.
You mean to tell me computer geeks went OUTSIDE to spread mayhem? I call FAKE! We all know those pasty skinned fappers don't leave mom's basement.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max tried to jump a mopded on a home made ramp, that broke when he hit it. He smashed his nuts into the bar.

Oh boy! I've always hated hackers, and this might just be my big break. All I have to do is park my car in North Dakota and wait in the bushes with my daddy's shotgun! Now all I have to do is convince the police to give me back my license... I think they'll do it, after all, it's for a nobble cause!

I'm always down for a "nobble cause".

How in the world do I make a profit from someone installing a virus on their computer?
Any amount of money gain by this is beyond belief... I just want to know how and where to go? Could get my dad and all his AARP buddies to do this and start raking in the .02 cents.
