Feb 11 2009Different Geeky Takes On The Iconic Obama 'Hope' Poster
Remember the iconic 'Hope' posters used during Obama's presidential campaign? Ha, how could you forget, they're burnt into your retinas the way -- HEY LOOK AT THIS! -- my genitals now are. Well the website obamicon.me has been kicking it for a while, allowing any Tom, Dick, or Jane to make their own inspirational poster and message using a photo they upload. So go make one. Then post a link to it in the comments. But more importantly, hit the jump for a gallery of posters that are way cooler than the one you were going to make. Unless, of course, you were going to make one with a picture of me that says 'DOPE', in which case, yes, I am pretty fly.

I have no issue communicating without the use of profanity. Quite frankly, the english language offers much more colorful adjectives. The point being made is simply that in this country, where this blog is hosted, we have freedom of speech. The same freedom of speech that would protect this blogger (GW) in court. I find it rather disingenuous of him to post NSFW content and genitalia jokes, then censor our comments about them.

It is disingenuous for people to idolize a politician to this extreme extent--any politician, not just Obama. The last political leader to be revered and idolized in such a fashion was Adolf Hitler--historically speaking, he had a large following in the United States and England in addition to Germany, similar to Obama's large followings across Europe. When one leader gets this extreme, fanatical, jingoistic support, it opens us all to the danger of him overextending his reach and becoming a tyrant.
Also, I'm certain Artoo Detoo would have voted Republican.
