Jan 2 2009Wood + WALL-E = WOOD-E, Hiyo!

This is WALL-E made out of wood. It was very well constructed.
Disney commissioned UK-based sculptors and a group called Morpheus Prototypes to build this wooden sculpture of Wall-E as a gift for Pixar/Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter.
Impressive, but I could have made the same thing out of a bunch of popsicle sticks and some wood glue. Unfortunately, mommy says I'm not allowed to use the glue anymore because I fed some to my turtle and now he's different. Slower. And he was already slow to begin with! ZING!
Hit the jump for a closeup of a tread.

Ah, the humor, the comments...all excellent (wood-e; slow turtles).
This is awesome, they should totally sell either the plans or the kits to make your own (DIY).

FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max goes to California to check out why his friend got killed, and went to see Baja's boss who had him thrown through a plate glass window, and then arrested by Brad Hamilton.

Wall-E bothers me. He's far too lonely and desperate to be cute. He reminds me of those photos of abused animals that charities use to solicit donations. I wish there was an organisation accepting donations to be put toward the merciless torture of the people who've abused those animals.

FAIL! This post fails on so many levels. They had to commission a group of people to build this piece of junk?
This is exactly like that time when a major studio ripped off the character from a movie released about 20 years prior and dumped that trash upon the general population who were then brainwashed into handing over their money to sit in a theater and drop their IQ by about 10 points.

This is exactly like that scene in the movie Tender Dracula where Dracula is under testing and suffers a lightning strike which shorts his circuits. Later he dances to More Than a Woman and joins the friendliest street gang in LA, who give him a paint job and a slogan.
