Jan 21 2009Wow, That's Woody: A Custom Wooden Vespa

This wooden Vespa was made by woodmaster Carlos Alberto to show off his skills in the art of woodery. The entire exterior was constructed of laminated hardwood and, I've got to admit, it looks pretty damn amazing. But the question remains: is there a cooler form of transportation than a wooden Vespa? And the answer, of course, is yes, all of them. Including hobbling on crutches.

Thanks to Chris, who built a wooden rocketship but had to burn it to stay warm one winter when the power went out.

FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max rode his scooter into the city and got involved in fights between the Mods and Rockers. Later while under the influence of pills he drove into the sea, and almost drowned except that he was washed onto a rock where he reevaluated his life.

Cameron, so glad to hear your getting past the first thing - it's a new chapter. I'm sure there's a use & place for this wooden thing somewhere in the world
9. Pew³ - January 21, 2009 12:03 PM
I just got a woody!!
Ha, no I didn't. Wood vehicles do not impress me.
Lets see a Vespa made completely from carbon fiber or kevlar.

Thoose guys are just sorry they don't have a real car. Two wheels??? Haha get that thing of the road! Wood=brown=shit
11. LSDiesel - January 21, 2009 12:21 PM
There is good reason that things that go 'Vrooom Vrooom' are not made out of wood. Although, it does open a door to quite a large amount of innuendo...

That's awesome!

14. Thumperchica - January 21, 2009 12:29 PM
Wow, this looks really good! Although I wouldn't want to be near that thing in an accident... talk about fueling your own fire-y death
15. Smartass - January 21, 2009 12:43 PM
Why are the wheels badly photoshopped???
16. Moose Knuckle - January 21, 2009 12:45 PM
What, precisely, Does it take to earn the title "woodmaster"?
And does it involve performing cock pushups?
17. Cameron - January 21, 2009 12:46 PM
@15. Smartass - Wow... I didn't even notice that until you said something. There are no shadows or anything, it does look a little bit odd. And what do the wheels attach to in the fist picture? Looks like they are just sitting there.

I approve

The first cobblestone street and you got 1000 toothpicks up your ass.
20. LSDiesel - January 21, 2009 12:54 PM
It's a steampunk moped, and a terrible one at that.
21. Debo - January 21, 2009 1:15 PM
@19. 1. It is not steampunk. 2. It is not a moped. 3. It is not terribly made. I would have a fourth point proving why you're an asshat but you quit typing.

Can the movie "Woodrophenia" be far behind?

27. Pat - January 21, 2009 1:56 PM
@20 Scooters are not mopeds. It's a common mistake, but there is a distinct difference.

@21, I was exaggerating for the sake of a point. So when I say that you're a cock sucker, I don't really mean you suck cocks (or maybe you do) I am only exaggerating the fact that you are a douche-rocket that loves Bukkake.
See? Class dismissed.
29. Dr.Known - January 21, 2009 2:19 PM
#28 haha, douche-rocket
I thought the 1st pic was a little off also but now that's it been pointed out, wtf
30. catch22 - January 21, 2009 2:50 PM
the wheel is connected on one side only. granted a forked design would be better for structual purposes, but its a choice by the craftsman to allow a better look at the inlay detail of the custom hub
im assimung this is an electric model (doesnt know shit of scooters outside of the flcl vespa ss 180 and the piaggio mp3) cause unless there is some crazy undercoating, the heat and corrosion from a fuel model would be pretty bad

STOP the tired post, you're a WHORE!
I'd ride it around town. But someone would have to give it to me out of the kindness of their heart. I couln't afford it. boo hoo.
32. Lee Frank - January 21, 2009 5:45 PM
That is a supreme vespa. That takes the gross Vespa out of vespa-ing.
33. Debo - January 21, 2009 5:46 PM
@28. Did you really just write "Class dismissed"? I haven't been that insulted since someone told me I "just got served!" after an important break dance battle. I'm almost to scared to post this fearing you might come back with the dreaded "you are the weakest link, goodbye!" insult.
34. buzz_clik - January 21, 2009 6:18 PM
@9 - Or maybe made from wet cardboard! Or rice pudding! Or dead pigeons! Or bent spoons! Or fingernails!
@21 - That's a delicious ZING right there.
35. Ben - January 21, 2009 7:44 PM
lol woody thats what she said...
36. Moot - January 22, 2009 10:41 AM
This is fake. The stone is a good backdrop to insert the model in.

@ #7, #15, #17, #36
You people are funny.
One of these images was certainly created using photoshop,
but to call it a fake assumes that there was some attempt to fool the viewer.
Looking at the original there clearly was no attempt at trickery.

You've only fooled yourselves.
