Jan 22 2009Forget Rubik's, I Want A Yoshimoto Cube
A Yoshimoto Cube is actually two separate cubes nested together. The technical terminology for the change is "the transformation of two stellated rhombic dodecahedrons from a cube". Honestly, I just like listening to this guy's voice. It's soothing, like a homicidal maniac's.
Youtube
Thanks to OJ's Mom, who once transformed a stellated cylinder in his pants into a dodickahardon IN YO FACE!

At what point do you decide to sit in front of a video camera and record this for the public to see?
Someone should do a study on people that make worthless videos for the interwebz.

That's soo cool, it would probably impress the chicks! Oh yeah I want that thing and then I'm gona pay a nerd to give me classes in how to use it. I just hope that that cube isn't compensating for anything, I mean if he needs a f***ing cube to get chicks, what's wrong with that f*** nerd? I'm not a nerd so I'm OK.

Yes very impressive - to an 18th century follower of Quakerism perhaps, I had one of those things when I was like 12 - came in more colours than gold and silver too! Next up - gaze in awe at the witchery and demonic wonder of the Jacobs Ladder.

FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max and Baja went to a Picasso exhibit in Havana. They smoked cigars and ate grilled pork sandwiches. On the way back home they went to a Dallas Mavericks game and sat in the owners box. When they got home Baja told Max is usually quite a square, but lately has shown more depth.

Thanks to this video, which you posted earlier, I took the plane from Norway and down to New York, and purchased this myself. I think most people is gonna halt when they realise the thing is 55 dollars, and Rubriks cube is only five.
11. Dr.Known - January 22, 2009 1:36 PM
I like that you're showing more depth too Daisy. By the way don't be late tonight!
This cube however, hrm how mathematically shapeful

Cause marketing companies haven't been sending these to people covered with logos since the 1950's. Maybe Geekologie is caught in some sort of space-time vortex thingy today.
13. carterdana - January 22, 2009 1:50 PM
Yeah, this was way more impressive to me 20 years ago, around the same time I had an Alexander's Star, Missing Link and the Rubik's Sphere.
P.S. Daisy, shadows isn't possessive in your sentence, no need for the apostrophe before the last s.

That is witchcraft!!! May the wrath of god descend upon you! Yoshimoto or whatever the hell his name is.
Awesome, actually. Me bloody mates used to play with it at my flat after a night of fiddlesticking at the bloody pub. Very cheeky!

Anything with Yoshi in the name can't be all that bad. Mario tells me the princess loves that trick he does with his tongue. He calls it 'the Yoshi". I probably shouldn't let him know I was banging the princess while he was out shopping for mushrooms the other day. I taught her the 'reverse Yoshi". It was great!

The best part is when you solve the cube, a gateway to Hell opens and disfigured demons come out, strip the flesh from your bones and drag your screaming remains to their eternal agony fun park... until the next sequal.

i miss "square one" they apparently dont make them anymore...(i havnt been able to find any ) it was like a rubiks cube on crack with extra diagonals and stuff and not in a symmetrical way either.
i still love my collection of rubik's magics... not the new crappy ones withthe stupid colors butthe original 8 10 and 12 square models
gotta love a toy that was recalled for having too much fishing line involved then re released with virtually no change in this, the day and age of nancy pants wuss families that sue for the stupidest things
remember when tonka trucks weighed 10 lbs and were made of steel? how bout voltron...the bad ass metal voltron... that you could kill a sibling in a "space battle" if a cat decided to become a projectile....
...*sigh* memories

Hey, something I can use to distract my bosses at meetings while I escape!! It will take them forever to make the stars, and then I'll end up getting an email to come up with a protocol for solving this thing, and I'll tell them I need to take the afternoon off to figure it out... hmm...

Looks cool, but I'm not paying $50 for it.
25. Bekky - January 22, 2009 2:25 PM
so that's pretty sweet.
anyways i bet if we all ignored daisy's comments for awhile he/she/it will get bored and upset that no one is paying attention to he/she/it and eventually he/she/it's head will explode.
just a thought.

FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This reminds me of a scene from the movie Tender Dracula. Dracula, his wife, their resurrected man servant, and a couple of others all wake up inside a room with 6 sides of equal lengths. They find out that the room neighbouring their's is very similar, as are several hundred more.
They die off, until Dracula's resurrected man servant escapes, only to be shot in the head.
32. guate6 - January 23, 2009 11:38 PM
Awesome!
Man I remember going to the the space station (NASA) and them selling these at the gift shop decades ago. Boy I loved playing with that funky cube!
33. Robotnic - January 24, 2009 2:04 PM
Did he call that impressive engineering? Bridges are impressive engineering. This isn't even on par with Duplo blocks. Most origami designs pawns that thing. It's as advance as a camping chair.
34. Bluellama - March 6, 2009 5:16 PM
@Daisy and Spam Artist:
It isn't fake, I bought one, it is exactly like in the video, and the shadows are not off! And you can't photoshop a video! You can edit a video in other ways, though.
