Dec 3 2008Time Cube Clock Is Rarely An Actual Cube

The $12 Cube Clock is shaped like a cube at noon and midnight but rotates to create all kinds of crazy-ass shapes in the interim. "The largest triangle is for displaying hours while the medium is for minutes and the small triangle on the edge represents seconds." At only $12, the clock makes a great stocking stuffer for Christmas. Alternatively, you could stuff it into the bottom of a sock and use it to beat off a would-be thief. Just trust me, you don't wanna use your hand.
Hit the jump for a couple pictures of the rotational fun!

Interesting Cube Clock [gadgetvenue]
Thanks to Emile, who invented a Sphere Clock, but the prototype rolled off the desk and broke.

For a second there, I thought it said $120, and it didn't even phase me.
For $12, this thing is pretty damn cool, I will say.

Finally! The GW has posted a wierd ass time device without it being retarded expensive. Thanks GW! Now I can go spend, spend, spend like Jesus would want me to.

@LSDiesel:
Considering the completely f***ed prices some of the stuff on here lists at, I'm surprised it's not $120,000.

FAKE!!!!
This is an obvious photoshop job. You can tell because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max constructs an elaborate toy cube for Baja and its used to summon the devil.
5. LSDiesel - December 3, 2008 12:52 PM
@3, but there would always be a story as to why it was so expensive. It's always *justified* somehow. Like this, for example, could very be well made with Steven Hawking's tears and werewolf bones.

Well folks, I followed the links to the product site. It turns out this is old and the clock is no longer availible. Leave it to the GW to find something affordable and it turns out to be a red herring. Mmmm. FISH!

Aww man, the douche is right. I can only find it on chinavision.com, and yes, you can't buy it. I saw it being auctioned off on an ebay-like site somewhere, but feh. Added to chinavision's catalog the day after Christmas, last year. Wonder how long it's not been for sale.
Looks like this clock hasn't, and won't, be in anyone's stockings. Good call GW!

Y'know why it's discontinued?
P1: "What time is it?"
P2: "Let me check the clock."
..........
P2: "I have absolutely no idea."
This is not too dissimilar to an actual conversation I had with Christina Ricci in LAX after getting off the red-eye from Tokyo waiting to catch my connector to Austin. With my watch set on Austin time, I was in no condition to calculate the time in California, so I just showed her my watch and told her it was set to central time, she could do the math.

That clock design is actually pretty old, we had one in the 80's.
22. Trevour - December 3, 2008 6:30 PM
Yeah I had one too, like 15 years ago. It was a black pyramid that was divided up into sections - basically half of this thing.
23. Shoka - December 3, 2008 7:27 PM
I didn't think this was a new product. For one, I've had one of these for probably... five years now, I should think, only it's black.

Old? Yes.
However, some people seem enthralled by it. I'm about to put one of my old Time Cubes up on Ebay, if you're interested.
