Dec 12 2008Mmmm: Fondant-y Nikon D700 DSLR Cake

Some woman's husband had a bakery make her a Nikon D700 cake, then he gave her the actual camera afterward. How romantic. Well, not as romantic as presenting your wife with a cake that looks like two hands, then giving her the clap, but, pfft, what is?
Hit the jump for a bunch more from all angles.

Incredible Nikon D700 DSLR Cake [toxel]
Thanks to Spikey and Manwai, who once made a functional telescope cake.

Yeah, it's pretty creative, but it does look like crap.
You can tell it hasn't been Photoshopped, those shadows are proportionate. This does not look like a scene from Never Back Down either.

I've gotten first like a million times it's nothing special
And that's an awesome cake better if it was a canon xsi

FAKE!!!!
This is a complete photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadow's are all wrong.
This is exactly like that scene fromt he movie Never Back Down where Max and Baja tried to bake a birthday cake for a fancy party. The cake fell, and Baja filled it up with the gas pipe that fed the stove. When the candles got blown out the cake exploded.

Yeah, but there are canon people and there are nikon people, she's definitely a nikon lady.
Mmmm...and a cake lady.

That's no "Ace of Cakes" cake, I can tell you that...and whenever I see red cake, all I can think of is that scene in "Steel Magnolias" with the armadillo cake.

HA!

Yeah, the redness in the cake is kinda making me wary of the flavor. However, I would eat just to see how it would develop.

I would like to see a cake of the Indian Thriller. Then and only then can I rest in peace on this planet.

Is there anything you CAN'T make with fondant? It's like the stuff of alchemists...I sure if you molded one to look like Betty Rubble and waved your philosopher stone over it you'd have a yabbo doo time.
18. Pew³ - December 12, 2008 11:51 AM
I would try to operate the camera cake , pushing the buttons with my fingers and thumbs, only to start squishing and separating the cake. Mooshing the cake between my fingers until I make a complete fist, then I will lick all the frosting off my hands..
mmmm frosting!
