Dec 1 2008Haha, I'm Rich!: Fiber Optic Placemats

The LumiTable table runner is made from woven fiber optic strands and glows while you dine in the dark. Available in a variety of hideous colors, each 63"x13" runner will set you back a costly $200, but is sure to get the neighbors talking. Talking about what a tacky freaking idiot you are. Seriously, the only people that eat in the dark are vampires. And if there's one thing I know about vampires, it's that I tried to stab myself to death with my nachos watching Twilight this weekend.
Luminous tablecloth adds an eerie glow to your dining experience [dvice]

I guess it'd be OK... if you were eating while listening to Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade, or watching TRON.

FAKE!!!!
This is an obvious photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadows are all wrong.
This is sort of like when the credits rolled at the end of the movie Never Back Down and the little colored squares were flashing around. It's nothing like that scene with Max & Baja though, where they get all crazy with bacon flavored ice cream, star wars puppets, rubber duckies and pirate maps at a local Del Taco.

Pffbbt, silly GW - twilight was totally written for chicks. I know this because including me, every EVERY female I know is reading the series right now... it's addictive, like, you twitch violently if you have to put it down, addictive.
This placemat/runner is gawd aweful fugliness.

It's mildly cool, but way too impractical and overpriced. Give it a few months, and you'll be able to find them a Spencer Gifts for probably 10% of the current outlandish price.
They really need to make them watch battery-operated though. You currently have to plug these into a freakin' wall outlet, so every time someone gets up from eating, they'll trip over the wire & send their food crashing down on your carpet.

This is exactly like the scene in the movie Never Back Down where Baja got a job at a TV station doing weather and befriended a local HS kid in order to get him to kill her husband, Max.

Hey man me too! That was some super emo teenage gothic emo type emo goth vampire movie. Damn it was so emo! EMO! It also had weird sexual tension, like when 2 cousins are hot for each other, but there are too many people in the house to do anything...I mean....:(

despit the fact that...why..why would you be munching in the dark, just so you can see the slightest glow of a crappy fibre optic mat

This would be cool for a while, but I agree with one of the previous posts that few people eat in the dark. Sure, its cool at first, but then it just gets annoying. i like to see what i am eating.
