Nov 24 2008Now That's What I Call Hot: LEGO Fashion

lego-fashion.jpg

Designer Jean Charles de Castelbajac, now to be known as Jean Charles Van Damme Dem Legos Are Hot, displayed some LEGO inspired outfits at a recent fashion show. If you can't tell, they're making me amorous. Gimme kissey! Haha, now that'll be a nickel. And also, why the hell am I not a fashion designer? I've got some killer ideas. Namely, a LEGO castle on some waif's head. ZOMG, I'm gonna take the fashion industry by storm! AND the lapels. See what I did there? No? Hey, I'm just flying by the seat of my LEGO pants. Jesus, I could do this all day.

Hit the jump for a worthwhile video of what the show had looked like if they had used actual minifigs.

1st!

why do they think this works? I mean i spent alot of my childhood playing with toys, but i moved on. Now i play 360. So.......yeah.....

Looks like they got their designs out of a Rainbow Brite coloring book.

Hmmmm. I think my clothing collection inspired by old moldy shower curtains is better than this.

pew pew

@2 I sincerely doubt ppl gonna wear 360 hardware in the near future...

@5...I bet you would have said the same thing about lego clothing.

@2
Clearly not a true fan as you would be the Dread Pyrate Roberts.

FAKE!!!!

This is an obvious photoshop job. You can tell its fake because the shadow's are all wrong.

This looks a lot like the scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max was making a school project out of Legos, and ate bacon ice cream really late, and then had wild nightmares.

What amuses me about this is that there are undoubtedly rows and rows of ridiculous fashionistas in the audience nodding, stroking their goatees, taking themselves VERY seriously, and saying things like, "Hmmm..." and, "Yes!"

I think I've once dreamed about this. LEGO cars anyone?

Here's a list that may be LEGOlized:
1. Kitchen Utensils
2. Automobiles
3. Powertools
4. Factory Robotic Assembly Lines
5. Computers
6. Surf Boards
7. Houses
8. Ships
9. Sex toys
10. Handguns
11. Livingroom furniture
12. Barn
13. Safehouses
14. Buildings
15. Banks
16. Construction materials
17. Braziers
18. Workout equipments
19. Airplanes
20. City Hall

The person in the center is clearly... clearly a guy!
Wait... What? No way!

My agent told me she's a female model.

NOBODY TOLD ME THIS CRAP!!!

Clearly another reason why the "Fashion industry" is completely useless.

Useless people putting on useless shows so other people can gawk at useless cloths that will probably be in a dumpster an hour after the show. If the "fashion industry" were to collapse and cease to exist tomorrow, only rich brats and designers would care.

My lord what a waste of time and money.

@11
I personally believe the one on the right is a "guy". You see, the leggo military would never let a woman enlist, and that "woman" is clearly wearing a standard issue leggo aircorpsman's uniform with egyptian camo helmet. Plus the lack of t*** and the slight bulge in the kilt nethers is the spoiler.

Clearly the one in the middle is your mom!!!

@10 sex toys?? hahahaha! Wouldn't that hurt?!?!?!

I really like the video, the shadows are all right :P and plus it's crazy how shiny everything is

I like the V-neck T in the middle.

I agree that this looks more Rainbow Bright than Lego though...

When fashion designers do this crap, who are they selling it to? I mean...aside from the model wearing it for novelty at the actually fashion show, who the heck is actually buying it?

Anyone else notice the devil in the video?
I'm thinking Lucifer made a trade with J.C.
Is this really thing to ask for in exchange for your soul?

I just need to know the name of the music from the video!

I sure hope they padded the insides. I've worn LEGO head wear before and that shit hurts, it's sharp and just all-around a bad idea. :(
