Nov 20 20087-Legged Spider Drawing Sells On eBay

Remember my personal hero David Thorne and his seven-legged spider drawing that was idiotically refused as payment for a $233.95 bill? Well the spider just sold on eBay -- for $10,000. And guess who won? This guy. *pointing at self* Ow, my eye. But yeah, I thought about just printing out a copy of the drawing, but then decided that would be immoral. Because I don't steal things -- except women's hearts! I keep them in a cooler full of ice and sell them on the black market. "Hearts! Get your hearts here! Also, ice cold beer."
UPDATE: Somebody on eBay is now selling accessories for seven and eight-legged spider drawings. Hit the jump to see their Santa hat and Buddhist's robe.

Note: Each accessory costs $5 and DOES NOT include the spider drawing.
eBay Auction for spider accessories
Thanks to Chris, who paid a counterfeiter $6 to duplicate the drawing. And Lena, who just printed a screenshot instead.

FAKE!!!!
This is an obvious photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadows are all wrong.
This is a lot like the scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max tried to pay for a traffic cam speeding ticket with a picture of money.

By the by, any lawyers out there? I believe we get a cut of that cash for my suggestion in the original thread to sell it and your lawyering expertise! I have been taken advantage of and require a fee for my counsel plus damages!
10. guate6 - November 20, 2008 2:40 PM
I wish I could draw that well and sell something for $10k :-\
11. lulu - November 20, 2008 2:43 PM
it's not even david thorne selling the spider and making the money. david thorne lives in australia (if you scroll down all the asshat comments on the first post, you'll find david thorne writes in and gives his blog's URL which you can check out his page, he's actually selling mugs with his spider on them).
so this jerk on ebay is from sweden - he jacked David's spider and is selling it without giving poor david the money! what a jackoff!

@13
Pay attention much?
16. Moose Knuckle - November 20, 2008 3:00 PM
The solution to our economic woes is, clearly, to switch over to the 7-legged spider standard.

@13 My junk. Your mouth. 20 minutes.
18. dliup - November 20, 2008 3:03 PM

It's won by a hacked account. The looser will never see the money.

For those of you new to posting here on Geekologie, yes, Daisy posts the same shit more or less for every article, and I hope that soon enough more and more people will join me on the Daisy-should-be-sodomized-to-death train.
As for the spider, that's actually really funny, I don't have that money to spend, but wow, right on for the seller.
20. SmokingGirl - November 20, 2008 3:05 PM
Daddy-long-leg "spiders" only have 6 legs...
Not important information, nor does it have much to do with the topic of a seven legged spider drawing, but useless information is fun nonetheless.
Camel "spiders" aren't really spiders either.
Books are fun!

....Idiot.

Probably a hacked account
34. PLEEEZE! - November 20, 2008 4:44 PM
@ smokinggirl
You are correct! Camel spider is a common name for one type of solifugae (often called false spiders) that is a large spider-looking creature found in desert regions of the Middle East and Southwest Asia. Some species can also be found in the US South West. They are nocturnal, non-venomous and can't spin a web. Their bite is nasty as they use their large jaws to tear apart their prey and they can cause a nasty infection as well.
You get a gold star for the day!!!

38. snofru - November 20, 2008 6:46 PM
@37 In my opinion the 7-legged one should be worth more, I remember someone saying in the other post that it was abstract art, and I agree!
39. Spider - November 20, 2008 6:52 PM

@ 11
In an interview with David Thorne...
"What is the state of the eBay auction on the drawing? I understand the winning bidder is not going to pay and you’re okay with that. Have you spoken to him?
The drawing remains unclaimed. Patrick, the person who made the winning bid of US$10,000 rang me after the story made the news and we have had a good laugh over the attention it raised and been in contact via email since. The Swedish man who posted the spider on eBay has also been in constant contact.
The people involved have simply been using the internet as a playground and I always approve of this. I have made some interesting online friends over the last week."

One of the accesories is for the eight legged spider. So the guy that spent the 10,000 dollars is screwed if he wanted the Buddhist's robe.
52. Candida Doc - November 23, 2008 9:56 AM
As a spider owner are you going to sell franchise?

55. Daisy Has A Small Penis - November 30, 2008 4:20 AM
Damn, I've been hunting for an orange jumpsuit for my 7 legged spider so we could play Guantanamo... but the one pictured above is clearly for a regular 8 legged spider ! Damn. Christmas morning is going to be filled with tears and sadness. C'mon, help a fella out, anyone know where I can get a 7 legged spider POW outfit ? Seriously !
56. Kevin - June 17, 2009 6:38 AM
