Oct 8 2008Mmmm, Delicious Mother Board Cakage

It's been a while since we've seen some scrumptious cakeologie here on Geekologie, but the wait is over! And as a man who's no stranger to eating computer components, I find this mother board cake utterly delicious looking. I mean, just look at those RAM wafers! You haven't lived until you've left a little memory in the back of your pants.
Hit the jump for one more mother cake.

Thanks to Karina, the sweetest dessert on the planet.

Tasty cakes.

cake 2 is superior as it actually has a cooling fan and won't overheat. On the other hand, neither of them will do much at all without a power supply.
3. flareback - October 8, 2008 10:42 AM
looks like an eight year old decorated it. The rolo's are a nice touch though.

I've loving the wafer PCI slots in the upper left of the first image.

Maybe its a creative idea or something, but it looks gross. Is that Bubbalicious in the top right corner?

I don't see a port for my cupcake card

Mmmm good idea with the wafers.

The first one looks better...imo.
Has anyone EVER seen a brown motherboard? maybe its just me.

The second looks more like a gas or powerplant to me.

@2 surely without a CPU the cooling isn't an issue for number 1 ?
15. enigma - October 8, 2008 11:13 AM
P.S. @3 - you've obviously seen too much fondant...
(ie you try to do better with tasty frosting)
16. boredom - October 8, 2008 11:21 AM
The problem with cake 1 is it's using old ass wafer ram when clearly should have upgraded to the newer faster fig-nuton ram
17. ahha - October 8, 2008 11:23 AM
@14
You may have a point. I thought the black thing with the wafer in the center (up by the rolos) was an attempt at a cpu.
18. ahha - October 8, 2008 11:25 AM
@14
also, I was just being stupid about how they aren't functional. If you are going to call me on something how about pointing out that a cake representing a motherboard would never have a power supply. That would be the entire open case cake.
19. Smon - October 8, 2008 11:54 AM
@18 but wouldn't that be pointing out the obvious instead of illustrating my ultimate nerdiness of knowing that the CPU was missing. God I rock.
Nuff said. Oh apart from pointing out that making a heatsink out of after eights (Bit slack that one of them looks broken tho) is just the pinnacle of awesome brilliantness (if such a thing exists). That'd be my part of the cake, I'd fight the small kids of for that bit (I'd need the fan too of course).

smon, what a cool name (or typo)

@16 I need some "old ass wafer ram" where can I get it from ? (maybe I shouldn't ask, but it had to be done)

Why do you always post cakeologie when I haven't eaten breakfast????

Ewww , GW is advocating getting a good ram in the back of the pants. No wonder you were given the felix unger treatment.

33. omgwtfnotcool - October 8, 2008 10:18 PM
oh no, that is so damn nerdy. that is about the saddest thing i have ever seen. and you know a girl made it for her boyfriend.
mario cakes are cool, donkey kong cakes are cool, zelda cakes are cool, even hello kitty cakes are cool... star wars cakes not cool but computer cakes are just unacceptable.
IF A GIRL MAKES U A GEEKOLOGIE CAKE, SMASH IT IN HER FACE AND DEMAND A SUPERFICIAL CAKE!
ps its not fake, i knew someone who made almost the exact same thing.

@5: Why yes, three pieces to be exact. I think it looks tasty.
As a matter of fact, it looks tastier with REAL frosting. That fondant stuff may look nice, but ugh...
