Sep 24 2008Wicked LEGO Star Wars Diorama

Flickr user roguebantha_1138 made this wicked LEGO Star Wars diarrhea.
Welcome to Mustaneer! (it's not as distant as Mustafar) Basically it's a Rebel attack on an Imperial base and mining installation. About a year in the making, on and off, it is 75 by 125cm and all built in 1:200 scale. I've taken LOADS of pictures (OK, I've taken too many) but I've tried to write something interesting with each, so if you have a bit of spare time join me on a journey to a galaxy far far away....
Hey, I've got some spare time AND I love journeys. Great selection, got my last pair of kicks there.
Hit it for a few more and a link to the massive gallery.

Thanks to Aileen, who knows that LEGO blocks are an important part of a well balanced breakfast.

Oh, man...I was at the toy store looking for Munny figures and I passed by the Lego aisle, I didn't budge for maybe half an hour staring at the different sets. When in sam hill did they get to be so expensive?! I just wanna make lego dinosaurs again...
7. Amy - September 24, 2008 11:50 AM
Oh, and #5, you are so utterly, completely and irrefutably awesome.

Fake!
That's so totally a photoshop job. Look at the shadows, they are all wrong.
This looks like its copied right out of the movie "Primer" or possibly "Never Back Down" I always get the 2 mixed up.
16. Tdizzle - September 24, 2008 12:33 PM
@15:
i don't know man... photoshop? for real? the shadows look pretty good to me. it looks like he used ceiling lights and flash lights at some point...
BUT THIS BAD ASS!!!

20. commentzor - September 24, 2008 1:25 PM
@5: I feel the same way about Japan, sometimes. Starting on lego models would probably get me less shot and killed however.
Fantastic idea, thanks!

#5: Never go to the Shanghai Urban Planning building. They have the entire city scaled down (some pics were posted on this site a few weeks ago, I think). The fact that the Japanese brutally invaded China 60 years ago only makes the Godzilla urge stronger.
22. DigitalT - September 24, 2008 1:42 PM
I've never had more than 20 legos of the same color so anything I built was all multicolored. And by all means not even cool.
Nonetheless this is pretty cool.
23. Miles - September 24, 2008 1:59 PM
Very impressive.
@16- You'll see that a lot.
24. DrNecropolis - September 24, 2008 2:01 PM

"LEGO Star Wars diarrhea"
Having a little trouble with the spell check today, Geekologie Writer?
33. LSDiesel - September 25, 2008 11:54 AM
That is the MOST impressive diarrhea I have ever seen.
I once took a pretty impressive shit, but I think mine lacked the detail that is clearly apparent in these pictures.
Guess I need to eat some more P.F. Changs
34. Brian - September 25, 2008 6:02 PM
@30: Me too. The first thing I thought was "did he just say 'diarrhea?" I'm pretty sure that's not a word you spell correctly by accident. Also, my inner monologue sounds JUST like Chris Griffen.
