Sep 30 2008Watermill Provides Drinkable Water From Air!

The Watermill is a glorified dehumidifier that pulls water from the air and purifies it to drinking quality.
Inside air is up to 70 times more polluted than outside air. The WaterMill is installed unobtrusively on the outside of your home, using outside air, so it won't dry out the air you breathe in your home. And don't worry if your outdoor air is less than pristine - even if you live in a crowded city, the Watermill's filtration system ensures your drinking water will be clean and free of toxins and bacteria - more pure than tap water or even spring water.
The WaterMill provides you with:
* clean, fresh water for drinking and cooking
* up to 12 liters of water per day
* a sustainable, elegant appliance for your home
Sound too good to be true? No, not really. Like I said before, it's just a dehumidifier with an ultraviolet sterilizer attached. Fun fact: ultraviolet sterilization isn't an effective form of long-term birth control. Hello child support!
Thanks to Dan, who's holding out for a BeerMill.

Wait, how exactly did you try to use a UV light bulb to prevent pregnancy? sounds perverted...

This is a bit wierd, and opens you to easy tampering of your homes water source... hell no... I'll stick to Brita or bottled...
3. Jumpin_J - September 30, 2008 11:12 AM
I bet cleaning the filter would be a pain in the ass.

If it uses UV you won't need to clean the filter. Just change a bulb once every one or two millennia.
Imagine several huge ones to provide water for a refugees camp in Africa... and at the same time accelerating the desertification of their habitat.
NUM, NUM, stupid scientists, NUM, NUM.

I imagine this "inventor" stoned, watching the condensation from his loud window air conditioner slowly drip, drip, dripping onto the towel he put under it...and thinking "whoa...dude, I could totally drink that if I were dying of thirst, but had ample access to electricity and cold air for some reason"

Wonder if it could use solar panels to power the UV bulb (led's?) - not that there's much humidity in areas without good drinking water (africa!).. neat idea but is it really sterile?

But will the Emperor's Stormtroopers come and roast Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru after not finding the stolen droids?
We need a product warning sticker in regards to that.
