Sep 11 2008Wait, What?: High Heels For Babies

Heelarious High Heels are your baby girl's first precious step to a life of stripping. Made for infants 0-6 months old, the $35 shoes practically guarantee a future in exotic entertainment. Okay, so they're actually just crib shoes that have a foam heel, but still, I think we can all agree this is fundamentally wrong. Thankfully, I'll never have a daughter -- I always insist my girlfriend be on top.
FUTURE UPDATE: Wow, three girls in a row. Seriously, this woman on top thing just isn't freaking working. So, to you parents of boys out there -- how did you do it? Is the secret in the butt? Just wink one brown eye if it is. I knew it!

Are you f***ing kidding me?

This is crazy! Although I guess if you've already named her Candi, Destiny, or(insert stripper name here) You might as well get her a head start...
Just remember, if you're breeding her for porn, don't EVER break her from that pacifyer
3. SmokingGirl - September 11, 2008 10:21 AM
This is utterly ridiculous. The slutification of our children will hopefully end soon.
4. Bernard Fleming - September 11, 2008 10:28 AM
How can you say this is a stripperification of our children when they don't even come with clear heels?
If you lose the baby lottery, and get girls, here's what you do. From an early age encourage prostitution, exotic dancing, porno work and drug addiction. All children have a propensity to rebel against their parents wishes and if you do it right, they will become harvard valedictorians if not, stripper, porno, drug addicted exotic dancers.

Suzy, legality isn't important. All I care about is if they can pronounce the word "daddy".
9. TWITCHCRAFT - September 11, 2008 1:17 PM
@ bernard: hokay, so they don't come with clear heels, WTF, leopard print not slutty enough for ya? although it'd be HEXTRA $XXXY if they came with elevators with goldfish in, na?
10. Miles - September 11, 2008 1:23 PM
It's all been said. I expect these will be in every Dollar Store in Bakersfield and Oildale, CA. by the end of the month.
11. Kara - September 11, 2008 1:27 PM
If I have a boy, I'm buying these for him.
@ Bernard: My dad actually advocated stripping and prostitution to me as a little girl. He actually told me how respectable a position is was and would pointed out if I ever wanted to keep a man I'd have to look like the girls in playboys.
I'm not a valedictorian of my college, but I certainly have a bright future due to my own personal endeavors and spirit in pursuing a colorful college career. I think the reverse psychology theory worked well because I became the exact opposite of what he toted was a respectable female role out of spite after he divorced my mom for his younger mistress. YAY!!! So in theory, you aren't really that wrong.
Now if only I kept my virginity to sell, so I could pay off all these loans...
12. Thumperchica - September 11, 2008 1:31 PM
@Miles - these were most likely invented in Bakersfield, Or Victorville - so you won't have to wait...

IS THERE A MANUAL INCLUDED WITH THESE SHOES TO SHOW THESE BABIIES HOW TO BE STRIPPERS, PROSTITUTES AND WHORES...HEY LITTLE ONES WHILE YOUR AT IT GET THE NEW HAND HELD BOOK ON LEARNING ABOUT HOW TO SUCK COCK..........YOULL NEED IT IN THE FUTURE POOR BABIIES
21. Kara - September 11, 2008 10:00 PM
@erica: It actually is true. It's not like he said it everyday to me (to brainwash me into that role), but he never realized that his macho-ism really impacted my development. He also told me while moving into my Freshman college dorm room that if I didn't join a sorority I wouldn't have any friends (not sexist, just ridiculous). He tends to think simplistically and has a knack of saying the worst possible thing at the worst possible moment. He thought that he was being "modern" by accepting these institutions as legitimate and trying to defend the practice as empowerment to women. Pretty much he was doing what he thought was right to do, he said he'd love me no matter if I became president or a stripper. He just didn't realize his words were confusing and damaging to a developing girl who faces many challenges of image. He's a product of his own dysfunctional family which allowed to sew seeds of chaos into mine. In a way, he was better than the role model he grew up with, so I give him credit. He just doesn't realize what he takes for "modernism" is really just sexism wrapped up in a new package (not only does he objectify women, but himself as well at parties). And because of how he grew up, he abuses and doesn't even realize it (both my mother and I suffered living under his roof until he made his dramatic exit). The sad part is, he thought he was being the best father he could be. In other ways he was, in some ways he was way off the mark. So I do give him credit and after years of counseling learned to forgive the actions that wounded me. We are currently working on mending our father/daughter relationship despite his inability to understand his own habits.
Also, I learned about sex education at an early age after my mother became pregnant with my brother who died shortly after. I didn't understand where the baby went that was in Mom's tummy, so I was used to seeing educational videos on the subject from age 3 on. My favorite video to rent at the store was the cartoon for kids about where babies come from. So I don't consider it sexual abuse in anyway because I was taught from a very early age that nudity is natural (my Mom was an artists as well who had a number of nude form books). The Playboys were just strewn about because my Dad didn't like to be told what to do and he knew it annoyed my very Catholic Mother. The comments about what a woman is supposed to look like were indirectly meant at for my mom to lose weight because he found her disgustingly fat at 115 pounds. As emotionally abusive as he was, he meant the best, he just failed at the execution part. He has his own personal issues to stumble over and mend, I'm waiting patiently for him to figure them out.
As I said, I took a different path, worked hard to be the best that I can be, and follow my dreams. I might not be the prettiest, athletic, or popular girl in school, but I am proud in with the work I've accomplished to further my education and my career. The most important thing I learned is how important it is to have your own mind and not let others define who you are.

24. Emily - September 12, 2008 2:43 AM
I don't get what the big deal is. People put their kids in soft basketball shoes and sports jerseys or dress their babies in ballet tutus or sailor outfits. How is this any different?
If a little boy gets dressed in a suit, people think it's adorable. If a little girl gets dressed in the same kind of shoe that a woman wearing a or a formal dress would wear, it's trying to make her a prostitute?
If a shoe with a heel on it is automatically considered horrifically slutty and vile, then why is it okay for adult women to wear them? Seems like a double standard of the sexes to me.
25. Emily - September 12, 2008 2:45 AM
(I had meant to type "wearing a business suit or a formal dress", sorry.)
26. godiva - September 12, 2008 5:08 AM
you insolent fools. this isn't about early prostitution. this is about hedonism. women love shoes: high heels or otherwise. if you want your kids to develop shoe-fetish at an early age or be gay, get them a pair of this.
27. watcher - September 12, 2008 9:16 AM
I can't believe the utter stupidity rolling as comments on this post.. this just goes to show how blatantly retarded people are today.. Such items as these should never even reach the market or R&D anywhere and the designer should've been locked up for trying to advocate such adult themes for the children.. Granted these are only heels but come on now.. how stupid is that to put these on a toddler and expect them to tlak in them when they can barely do it barefoot.. I think the gene pool needs a few hundred gallons of chlorine to wash this away.. Done as a novelty or not this just goes to show how sick people are.. don't get me started on those "beauty Pagents" that little kids go into like that Jon Bennet kid.. It seems the message from this 'product' only wishes to create more of those situations.. So.. if that's what everyone wants is to make gay boys and slutty daughters then fine.. just don't bitch and complain about it later when other pedophiles come after your 5 year old because you did something stupid like this... and no I don't have a sense of humor when it comes to comments making light of kids being turned into whores and/or child porn..
28. Thumperchica - September 12, 2008 9:43 AM
@24 - What if the little boy were put in assless chaps - male stripper style? Because that would be a closer comparison. Normal formal wear shoes for adult women do not include leopard print... We also don't think it's adorable to slap red lipstick and blue eyeshadow on a baby... think first...
29. Tiffany - September 12, 2008 10:14 AM
@ Watcher - obviously since they're designed for 0-6 month old's, clearly they're not designed to WALK in.
Obviously again, you are an idiot. I'll deal with you later.
@ Emily, YES. YES. THANK YOU.
Honestly, I think these are adorable and would probably buy them for my little girl.
If any of you people had actually taken the /time/ to check out the site instead of talking out your ass, you would have come across this on the very first page:
hee • lar • i • ous [he-lair-ee-uhs] - noun
extremely funny, completely soft
shoes for babies 0-6 months
designed to look like high heels
....
DUH. I mean, I'm going to have to write more because you all (except for Emily and Kara, I'm so sorry what your dad put you through but obviously you still came out okay so not /too/ much harm done) seem to be idiots.
First off, I can't believe how everyone assumes that being a stripper and a prostitute is wrong. It is NOT in any way shape or form less of a profession then anything else, but of course because a woman is using her body in a sexy manner obviously it shouldn't be allowed right? *rolls eyes*
My mother was a prostitute and I can sure as hell tell you she did not wear these shoes as a little girl. She ran away from her college and home at the age of 20 because her father and died and because her mother had gone bonkers and married a guy almost the same age as my mom. My aunt turned to drugs at this point in time as well.
She had run away and was living out of her car, living off one bad check to another, and would sell herself for sex for her and her best friend to stay in a hotel. If she hasn't have done that, I wouldn't be here. I completely believe being a prostitute should be legalized and sanctioned and watched by the government, so it could be safer and free from pimps and stop creating victimless crimes. It helped my mom be able to eat. I think being a stripper is a perfectly reasonable career as well, it's a great way to pay for school or your first car - some people are so great that they make it a life long career.
Furthermore, what's the difference between a stripper and a burlesque dancer like Dita Von Teese? Subtle differences, but they're essentially the same as burlesque is a pre-cursor to stripping, it's an old line of work.
Okay. Listen closely. CLOTHES DO NOT MAKE THE MENTALLY DISTRESSED CHILD-TURNED-ADULT. There are SO many factors. The first starts with the parents, whether it's nature or nurture there's DNA and distressing things parents do to kids that mess them up. Dressing up your 6 year old in SOMETHING SHE'S NOT PROBABLY GOING TO REMEMBER is not going to turn her into a slut.
Secondly, watcher, obviously you didn't see the site - it's a great product. Pedophiles aren't pedophiles because they're attracted to the "slutty" items kids like to wear nowadays. A regular guy doesn't see his see his neighbors six-month-old-girl in these SOFT heels and say "Dammmmmmmmmmn I want a piece of that" all the sudden after years of being into adult women. F***ing DUH. Pedophiles were, pitfully enough, born with an attraction that is universally damaging to children, I don't know why they're pedophiles or what happened to them to make them attracted to kids, but it happens and it sucks. But it's not, I repeat it is NOT because some little kid was dressed up pretty.
And a child whore? I know that happens in 3rd world countries, and I'm pretty certain that it happens places here, but I'm pretty sure most of those little girls are slaves stolen from other countries and, unless the people who sadly "own" them dress them up, I highly doubt they get to dress up pretty.
Watcher, I think you're really really REALLY ignorant. Again, if you had visited the site you'd realize that they weren't meant to be walked around in, and that they're a soft heel. Baby wigs, a bit weird. These? A bit weird too, bit a niche market
30. Tiffany - September 12, 2008 10:23 AM
*but a niche market. ((sorry to continue this but I accidentally pressed the post button before I was done))
Anyways most girls turn into sluts for many reasons, the key one being either a high sex drive or low self esteem or a bit of both.
You guys are idiots one, because you think that stripping and being a whore is wrong. Lucrative business guys, lucrative business. And you're idiots because most of you appear to be men and are just acting very deragatory to women. You want women to have high self esteem and not slut themselves out? Stop being a prick, easy peasy.
And two, f***ing DUH getting your kids pretend high heels for like, parties and photos that are soft so they're not actually having the pressure of a heel is not going to automatically set them up for the sexual addict life style. I know lots of little girls who play with plastic heel sets and wear mommies heels, I know I did.
And third, to all you rat-bastard-homophobic c***suckers -
I would actually be /happier/ if my kid was gay, I'm cool either way if they're straight or gay, but I know that I'd have a darling time if my son was gay. I'm not going to push my kids to have to pick who they're attracted to. But you act as if it's OMG THE END OF THE WORLD if your kid is gay. Freakin' grow up, get a life, and stop acting like you know what it's like to be a girl and know what makes a girl a whore, stripper, or a slut.
I quote Kara... "The most important thing I learned is how important it is to have your own mind and not let others define who you are."
So *big tongue sticking out*
31. Tiffany - September 12, 2008 10:25 AM
UG sorry one more bitch rant to the person who thinks that these are equivalent to chinese foot binding.
....
How much of an IDIOT are you? Considering that these are soft and meant to take off and foot binding involves binding the foot BEFORE it's in the shoe, not just shoving it in there and hoping it works. Moron.
32. Tiffany - September 12, 2008 10:37 AM
GAH one more *dressing up your 6 MONTH old not 6 YEAR old.*

And your posts are still too long.
37. Thumperchica - September 12, 2008 1:39 PM
Tiffany,
I personally think that prostitution should be legalized. I have nothing against the sex-trade of consenting adults. That said, most prostitutes do not start out with the idea that they will be "successful" as you pointed out with your "my mom got screwed by life and had to trick herself out" story. Not even your mother did it for "empowerment" she did it beacause her life went to hell, no judgement, just what happened.
Just because it should be legal, doesn't mean anyone has to agree with or celebrate it.
And BTW to all of the "her daddy took her college money" please, if he commited fraud she has legal recourse. Or she could GET A JOB to pay for school, like thousands of grad students across the US.
38. Emily - September 12, 2008 7:52 PM
@Thumperchica :: Personally, I think they're ugly and have never liked animal prints and hot pink in the first place, but I still don't see how it's a problem. Nor do I really think that comparing them to assless chaps is the better comparison. Whether or not some people associate leopard print with "fast women", the fact is that a high heeled pump is still considered a staple of formal female dress.
Were these styled as platform shoes as common with strippers and pole dancing or with clear heels or something that actually are used as 'street code' for prostitutes, I'd call that a little more obvious... but this is just a high heeled shoe!
Personally, I think the reaction here is more about people associating a femininely dressed woman as a sex object. It's a gender stereotype that devalues femininity, or considers feminine looks threatening.
While I don't personally find them particularly cool to where I'd want to stick them on a little girl I might have, tell you what I might do is stick them on a little boy if I had one just to see the kind of shitpickle people would throw over a boy in pink high heels.
I think this is much less about a stupid and ugly crib shoe which is meant as a joke for little babies to crawl around in and people to giggle at and more about society reacting ridiculously in regards to the embedded social stigmas that we have about men and women.
39. Tiffany - September 12, 2008 8:22 PM
@Emily
"Personally, I think the reaction here is more about people associating a femininely dressed woman as a sex object. It's a gender stereotype that devalues femininity, or considers feminine looks threatening."
YES. THERE. THANK YOU. *said like stewie, family guy.* ICON ARE YOU READING THE ABOVE?
"While I don't personally find them particularly cool to where I'd want to stick them on a little girl I might have, tell you what I might do is stick them on a little boy if I had one just to see the kind of shitpickle people would throw over a boy in pink high heels. "
You know, I might do that too.
40. Emily - September 12, 2008 9:22 PM
I live near a military base and I think if I took a baby boy out in pink toy pumps around all these soldiers, I'd probably get murdered or have people try to call CPS on me or something like wearing the color pink one day of his life might give my son "the ghey" and line him up a one way ticket to hell.
I worked for Sanrio for a good many years and I would watch little boy toddlers waddle into the store and get excited about the really bright pink, sparkly things and more than once saw fathers violently jerk their boys away and say "No! Don't touch that, that's girl stuff. You don't like that." It's sad, really. Kids just get attracted to bright, pretty things and don't even really understand what the big deal is and it's us adults who are looking at the social stigma attached to this. Babies won't understand they're wearing a high heeled shoe anymore than those poor babies understand when their parents put them in onesies that say "All daddy wanted was a blowjob", which is frankly a lot more demeaning to me than a tacky foam PVC pump. It's all about adult's social reaction to these things. It's not really going to change your kid. Sheesh.
Now I could definitely see that there would be ladies out there who take this really seriously and are trying to groom their "little princesses" and not allowing them to be children and that's a concern, but it's not the shoe's fault. It's all about society's behavior. Sheesh.

If these were reasonable prices and I have a girl I would so buy them. It would make for cute photos. My daughter now 8 has several pairs of heels. She wears size 6 in women now and she loves the fact of wearing real heels. It doesn't hurt anything, She'll wear a cute girly t-shirt and jeans with rhinestones and her 4" platforms decorated in cherries. (It's not an everyday thing, I don't force her to wear them) She seen me wearing heels and decided she wanted some and used to scoot around in mine lol..
